Ok i forged few sets of chain and scale mail and checked shops for greatrobes and here is what i vgot:
I have found such:
scale helmet: 36/51 44/42 43/43
scale jacket: 33/48 46/39 44/45 46/42 46/39
scale leggings: 45/43 35/46 46/45
chain coif: 46/49 52/60 51/59
chain shirt: 46/46 39/42 35/50
chain leggings: 42/47 48/48 42/52
enchanted greatrobes: 36/52 54/36 44/50 46/51 44/55 47/43 46/44 51/47 45/49
So as you see diffrence aren't huge. But cost of them is. Here are avarage stats of those that i found and comms need for public designs of armours.
scale helmet: 41/45.33 3 leather 3 steel
scale jacket: 43/42.6 5 leather 5 steel
scale leggings: 42/44.66 5 leather 5 steel
chain coif: 49.66/56 3 leather 15 steel
chain shirt: 40/46 10 cloth 35 steel
chain leggings: 44/49 5 leather 25 steel
enchanted greatrobes: 45.88/47.44 prices in shops 10k-18k
So my questions are:
Should chain armour be only a bit better then scale armour and cost 4 times more?
And why chain armour is more expensive then greatrobe? they have almoust same stats, if greatrobes not better, and greatrobes can be electric and magic proofed?
I belive that chain armour should have stats around 60/60.
What you all think about it?
Any word from divine?

Well, early on I think that chain was more defensive against one type (cutting maybe?) and scale was better against the other type. They both were about the same total level, just had different focuses for defence. No clue if it is still that way, or if it was changed, or if that was just an artificial observation that I made which has no relevance to reality. And I dunno about greatrobes.

I sell full set of scale mail for around 5k, where full set of chain mail is around 20k.
I think for this 15k more chain mail should have better stats.
Greatrobe with proofing is cheaper then full set of chain mail.
There is no point in buying chain armour right now.
Chain mail stats around 45/45 - around 20,000gp
Greatorbe 45/45 with electric and magic resistance - around 20,000gp
Guardians should be able to take chain armour with 60/60 or robes with 45/45 and resistances.

I pointed this problem out in my envoy report. For any non-warrior, the best armor is greatrobes, hands down. Besides from leather armor, greatrobes is greatly superior to scale and chain, not to mention they can be stitched up and be cured with 2 proofs. And now with the addition of hoods, there is virtually no point now to skullcaps or coifs. It annoys me to no end why greatrobes even exist but to make Forging a worthless trade skillset.

Master Weapons and the best, also non-decaying, physical armour in the realm (for the smith).

The advantages of chain is that it lasts much longer and can be smelted (whereas greatrobes have one shot at good stats). The disadvantages are worse stats, no proofs, and mainly the dorky coif you have to wear. These far outweigh the advantages.
On a sidenote, how is it we can doff a coif? Isn't that kind of... unwieldy?

I imagine you just grab the front and give it a friendly tug.

Maybe. It just seems stupid to me.

Yeah I was noticing the chainmail values after I bought the whole sepharic celestine set with matching shield and from what I can tell for what I paid to look nice it did not come with better stats. In fact the stats were worse than my last chainmail set forged 20 years ago and left in my store.
I don't even know if the armour even works which is the silly thing. At this point I'd rather ditch my whole chainmail set for greatrobes because I don't think I'd be taking that much more damage as is. Halo doesn't even work it seems.
