I was just flipping through the artifact help files and I noticed that all the trade skills and arts seem to have a special artifact except tailoring, poisons, bookbinding and artisans (although those last two are most likely due to them being new)

Is there a reason why tailoring and poisons were neglected? Am I overlooking something?

I know I wouldn't nearly be making as much off my trade skill if it weren't for my hammer, the others should have a chance to make more profit too smile.gif

well, i suppose the artifact vial -could- be considered the Poisons artifact unsure.gif

Or not.

It would be cool if posionists could have a jar of perservatives that keeps the corpse so you can keep pulling poisions out of it like 10 times.

And a Tailoring artifact should let tailors extend the life of thier wares or something.

I wish the Alchemists (and probably Enchanters too) had a better artifact.
The Gloves of Mastery are so trivial...
How about something that lets an alchemist use less herbs, or even add MORE sips?

Cutting power drain in half.. meh. I haven't had to get a new powerstone in AGES... and even when I do, they hardly cut into profits.

Jeweler's hammer and Gloves of Harvesting seem to really give an edge worth paying for in a trade, but not the Gloves of Mastery.
They cost 100cr MORE than the Gloves of Harvesting... Has ANYONE bought a pair?
Athana2005-09-15 00:48:38
Yeah...especially when people sell powerstones for 250 per..
Sylphas2005-09-15 01:29:11
Being able to do 70 sip vials would seriously boost your profits, I think, because there are plenty of people who will only buy if your transed for the extra sips, and if they can get it, they'll go to you.

I've asked on here about a tailoring artifact several times dry.gif not even a hint of interest from Them, that I recall.

I'd -really- like to be able to make clothes faster. The balance drives me crazy when I'm stocking my shop. Specially when I have to make tints as I go, and find gems and all sorts of other things.
Jairdan2005-09-15 05:32:51
I'd prefer being able to batch. So, like, be able to sew 5 of the same thing at once, for a reduced balance cost. Would make stocking a shop alot easier.
Narsrim2005-09-15 05:35:13
Gloves of Mastery should double what you brew. If you put in the herbs for 1 potion, you make 2. If you put in the herbs for a batch of 10, you make 20, etc.

When you figure that the average health elixir (most common) costs about 200 gold, we are talking a profit of about 80 gold.
Shiri2005-09-15 05:50:55
A bookbinding one would be nice. But I don't know what exactly could be added. The books last forever, and page lengths are infinite. I guess we'll have to see how well this library system works in practice.

An artifact that allows you to write in colour? tongue.gif

Ooh, or let you scribe directly, or not need a desk, or...something. Or lowered the outlay cost.

EDIT: Or ink cost. Or something.

Wait... no...? You make ~80 gold on the first potion (~95-120 for the herbs), and then the second potion is pure profit, so it's 280 total. Increases profit by 3.5 times, unless the alchemist with it lowers their prices by half... which would pretty much put other alchemists out of business.

That'd be nice, too.
Ekard2005-09-15 09:18:02
For tailors, they trade arti should allow them to make better clothes, more months before they decay.

No, they're not in, don't worry. I'm still waiting. sleep.gif

Ohh..... See I got excited. I saw this, then I remembered you called Sylphas a librarian on the other thread. My happiness level almost gave me a coronary, but... thank you for bringing it down, my disappointment has probably saved my life.
Shiri2005-09-15 09:24:55
Hey, you'd've been disappointed anyway!

(And Sylphas is an RL librarian, shh. tongue.gif)
