The Catacombs Quest is WAY too easy. It also gives a lot of karma... and it takes me a huge 5-10 minutes to do normally. At least one gar-something seems to have the item you need on the top level. At this point if you can poof down to the lowest level, it takes less than 2 minutes to do.
Given the impact of this quest, the karma, and you get a health/mana/ego blessing, it shouldn't be so easy.

You pretty much get into the catacombs because you kill Karngar and get the key. If the undead shock troopers were more stronger and faster with tracking, they could pretty much stop you

Considering what it takes to actually reach the bottom level, I'd say its fine. We have easy access because we have a rift, you have easy access because you have spores, aesyra has her hermits. It's all just skipping the long, hard, and difficult part of the quest.

Yes, so? I believe his point was, since you can skip that long hard portion, it doesn't really matter if it's there. For example, if Narsrim has spores for it, everyone in Serenwilde theoretically has spores for it.

Thank you. That said, the fact that Magnagora has a rift to skip down to the bottom level of the catas is stupid. However, it cannot be avoided. Likewise, Narsrim has spores down there. Again, regretably, unavoidable. As such, we can all complain/whine/cry, although I agree - the experience, karma, etc from the quest should probably be nerfed. For it's original intentions, and difficulty, the rewards are probably quite apropriate. However, no longer.

Exactly. If you can remove the difficult part, it isn't difficult anymore. Thus, it should either be far harder (like require 5 discs per village) or just get nerfed because its too excessive as is.

Isn't there supposedly an Honors quest down there that no one has finished yet, that has to do with releasing the orcs into the villages?
Maybe integrate the easy quest into the never-been-done quest, to possibly boost the toughness a bit?

The big quest is the orc quest. You get a bonus of +10% health/mana for like 24 hours, loads of karma, and orcs cut down comm production/power in the village they invade.
