why give her credit when she doesn't give it anyone else?
Geb2005-09-19 04:36:56
Well don't if that is your desire. I was just pointing out that she did pretty darn well with the Paladin-Bonecrusher combo too.

Actually, I saw her kill plenty of people as a Paladin- Bonecrusher. Use to come up on Deathsense pretty regularly. I also remember her asking people for duels, but many would refuse to fighter her. Give due where due is deserved; she did do pretty darn well as a Paladin-Bonecrusher.

Murphy does have a point, she never says anything good about anyone unless they are buddy, buddy with her. I never recall her killing anyone big or of quality while a Paladin, and those she did kill were idiots who fell to Inquisition. I felt she was best when she was an Aquamancer, though mainly due to the fact she didn't have such an enflated ego and she actually tried to learn to fight at the time.
Geb2005-09-19 04:46:56
We will just have to disagree on this point. I remember something different concerning her time as a Paladin-Bonecrusher.
Murphy2005-09-19 04:50:24
i agree with ethelon
ceres only ever killed me (still making my system at the time) after she got an inquisition off.
She never got me just using knighthood attacks, and i believe that is the mark of a good warrior if he can kill without his 3rd skillset.

I was Paladin BC around that time also and defeated Ixion straight up, using only Heretic once... just beat him down on wounds, forgot how, but I think I mangled both of his legs one right after the other and that was the end.

I disagree with you both concerning how good she was in that class. Was she on the level of Terenas and Daevos? No, in my opinion she was not. Was she a good Paladin-Bonecrusher though? Yes, I can say with certainty in my mind that she was one of the better ones in existence at the time.
Also I would state that the effective use of all of your skills is a mark of a great warrior in my opinion. Her taking you out with inquisition shows she looked beyond just her warrior skills to create a combination of attacks that took you out.
Murphy2005-09-19 05:07:53
use of effective skills is one thing. but if you can take someone out with just using primary skillsets then it means you are that much higher in my opinion.

Murphy, a person with extreme damage can take someone out with just a primary skill-set. Having the ability to do that does not in anyway convince me of someone's skill. So she used inquisition to take you out? It still got the job done. Why waste time whittling away at someone who is very resistant to health and wound damage, when you can do it a lot easier through other means? That right there shows thinking in my opinion.
* Hit submit before finishing my thought.

I know Ixion is good, but his logs of him just killing everyone with two simple bashing and lunging macros doesn't prove that at all. Like Geb said, the ability to kill people with high damage doesn't prove much, except that someone like Ixion hurts.
Ceres2005-09-19 06:09:23
I was an Aslaran as a Paladin Bonecrusher, by the way.
As I recall, Ethelon went Paladin after me, and was never as successful. On several occasions, he fought from behind Serpent's prismatic barrier, which at the time could be attacked from behind without dropping it.

I disagree with Geb, about Ceres being a good bc. All I ever saw from her were repeated inquisition strings. Her attacking with the bc abilities had no relevance to each other what-so-ever. She could cure though but that doesnt really make you good with the skillset.
Not that theres any need to take a hack at Ceres' fighting capabilities. She can at least hold her own, though I wish shed have a less inflated ego. Its annoying how some people think they're all that when it comes to fighting when they all got so much to learn still.

Alger, I have killed you with regularity as a Paladin, Aquamancer, and Celestine.
Your talent seems to extend only to "envenom rapier with niricol".

I see a bit of favoritism in your statement about egos, because she and Murphy both have near insufferable egos. Unlike you though, I am honest enough to say it about both of them. Both of them need to tone down their egos. Still, I guess I am the only one willing to say it about both and accept the possible ostracizing that may come with it.
Kaervas2005-09-19 06:42:35
People actually die to Aquamancers lately? I can quite happily stroll into their demesne and not have to worry about that nasty staffcast now.

yeh, i've got a bit of a problem with my ego sometimes, i can admit it. It just becomes very obvious when someone tries to trash me
Kaervas2005-09-19 06:47:04
Well aqua staff made up for the pretty crappy demesne before, now the damage sucks because the damage type got changed so Aquamancers aren't anything to worry about anymore.

I am happy you agree Kaervas. What I have tried to explain to others, but they just kept saying, "You have a demesne!" Means nothing, when the demesne was easy as heck to deal with in the first place.
Also, who keeps asking you to return Ceres?
