Murphy, just stop it. Please, just stop it. You do not have any secret knowledge that no one else has on how to avoid Crushes and Lunges, so please do not make yourself seem moronic by insinuating that you do.

Besides moving, stancing, and hindering abilities (web, hangman, etc), there really is no way to stop crush. So don't sit here now like you are some sage on the subject, and everyone else is just unenlightened fools concerning this topic.

I would remind you all that when I was an Paladin, I would regularly kill groups of 4-5 Magnagorans in Dairuchi (including Murphy).

Killing just with bonecrushing was nearly impossible at the time.

Crush cost 3 power.
Precision was still to-hit.
The wounds were significantly less powerful.
Everyone wore greathelms.

You said it yourself, you need to hinder me ACTIVELY, not shieldwhore or stance it away. Actively hinder me, every class has a method to do so, if not then you can always move away and heal your head. Its not unstoppable so stop acting like a girly man and deal with it. You obviously aren't parrying and stancing properly if you can't cure out of some of my crushes in time to avoid bashbrain, and its certainly not close to unstoppable like your debating, where if I debate back, the chance of losing goes up and up and up as the ego damage rises.

One other things you forget to mention Geb, is that though Murphy spends that 8-12p to get the head to critical stage, before he can kill anyone though, he has to beat up the rest of the body (most noticably the legs) before he can even THINK of killing said person. Even against me (who everyone here will agree is not one of the better fighters in the game) Murphy has to fight for a decent period of time working over the rest of my body before he can manage to kill me, and if I spent more time working on my defence against him, the chances that he will actually kill me off of those crushes to the head are extremely slim, to the point where he would have to dedicate quite a lot of his power just to getting me to the stage where he can kill me.

It DEFINITELY isn't a case where Murphy can go crush/crush, crush crush, win. He needs to work over the rest of the body, use good poison strategies and THEN kill me.

Heh, wasn't it Kaervas (though failed) just a month or two ago, right before they made the changes? The difference between my actions and yours Ceres is, I've proven my worth as every class I've been and become one of, if not the top fighter in said classes. You have joined as many guilds as me and have failed in each you have joined, depending upon following in the shadow of good fighters, getting in lucky kills and eventually moving on to the next class that will accept you. Apparently some people think you are decent, even I think you were good at one point, but since you've done nothing to prove so in Lusternia, though since your degrade there, you've come to the forums acting as a goddess of combat talking as if you have knowledge of combat when infact it seems everything you learn is from Thorgal or other friends. Anyways, this arguement is between you and Murphy, I only came in to start with to say you were good as an aquamancer.

Anyhow, crush/lunge shouldn't go through shield or the power cost should be moved up to 3 again, so that it can only be done three times before you need to recharge. I'm more for the increased power cost, personally.

Against soft targets, oh Murphy, you'll bulldoze them. It's fact. Stances, parry, aura, shield, serpent mean NOTHING against a crush. All they can do is run and keep healing their head. If your target can somehow keep up with the damage, faeling speed, high precision hammers, stun, blackout and keep wounds in check, good. It's possible but hard, and not everyone wears a greathelm, which I don't really mind.

Roark said long ago that rapiers/hammers forged before the change will not be adjusted. We shouldn't grief the players that have kept their awesome weapons because of this. Whine to the admin. You should see Rafael's high-precision rapiers. Somewhere inside of Murphy, he sees this advantage. The change wouldn't have went through had the coders not realized this imbalance. Crazy speed, high precision? DUH. Whatcanyado?

Heh, hun, don't kid yourself

Hartstone- was Champion, when I returned befor Glomdoring, was offered it again. Though this was in the time when people were still not great at healing, I was still considered top of the class.

Celestines- Champion. Even Amaru has repeatedly said I was as good as him and I showed him how to fight as a Celestine. Amaru is better than me, but I was still considered yet again, one of the top fighters

Paladins- Was offered to be made Champion and given free GR, but I turned down and because of RP reasons quit. I fought fighters like Daevos, Ixion, Murphy, and stood my ground or defeated them without having to rely on the godly Inquisition

Shadowdancers- Champion. There is no questioning my ability in this as most top fighters refuse to fight me.

Nihilists- Ok, I DO SUCK here, mainly because I have not taken the time to learn all the strats, I've been non-stop enchanting pretty much and waiting to get back into Glomdoring...

As for that duel, since I'm dropping Nihilist and going back to Shadow Dancers, give me about a week and I'll teach you the meaning of Owned. I've never even seen you fight anyone alone Ceres, stop kidding yourself as if you have any talent and stay huddled up in Celest.

The problem is definitely NOT with crush/lunge going through shield. It has been going through shield since the envoy reports where it was reduced to the 2p cost. The problem with crush/lunge is the fact that it now goes through prismatic barriers, which was changed AFTER the shield change, and is when everyone started whining like little girls with skinned knees.

As a Hartstone (1): Nobody could fight when you were Hartstone. In fact, 80% of people did not even have a cleanse enchantment. Big accomplishment.

As a Celestine (2): You were mediocre. A large part of your ability was based on the handmaiden, as became apparent when Amaru took over and you lapsed into ineffectiveness.

As a Paladin (3): You were frankly lacklustre. "Standing your ground" against someone is hardly a qualifier of any real combat ability, particular when that person is a knight and you are a dwarf in fullplate with trueheal at your disposal. More than once you killed people from behind the then-bugged Serpent.

As a Shadowdancer (4): All I have seen you do is wisp people into guards. Your use of hexes has not impressed me in the few, brief encounters we have had (you ran from heretic).

As a Nihilist (5): Glad that we agree for once. You do indeed suck.

I count five (5) guilds there that you have been a member of. Myself, I have been a Celestine, Aquamancer, Paladin and Shadowdancer. That makes four (4).

As to my not fighting alone, rubbish. I frequently request duels on market, offering to pay anyone who will take me up on my offer (sometimes in credits). No-one has ever replied. Most of the big-name fighters refuse to duel me (always with a flim-flam excuse to preserve their dignity).

2) Daevos, Valek, Murphy and all the top fighters REFUSED to fight me when I was Aslaran with Tarot (which was a seperate time from when I was dwarf/healer using statues). Anyone that questions my ability as a Celestine at that time is smoking crack. I LEFT the Celestines because it was to easy killing people and I rarely used Inquisition and I NEVER used Soulless, which is the skill people bitch about inuse with the Handmaiden, soooo, yet again Ceres, you have done nothing but pull BS out your arse and expect people to believe it.

3) I stood against Daevos many times, I defeated Ixion straight up and others ran from me or died (Though Daevos did end up kicking my arse in the arena spars after). Yet again, I used my SKILL and not repeated cheese tactics such as Inquisition to get my kills. Yet again, since you like pushing the lies about, I rarely used Serpent unless it was dire (like the raid on Celestia where the place was demesned with 12 MAgnagorians) and Trueheal was another skill I didn't even have a Macro/alias for, so it was used rarley aswell.

4) I've killed groups of Serens repeatedly as a Shadow Dancer, killed top fighters who you RUN from, and I don't even know why I need to defend myself as one against your claims. I don't think anyone will back your claim that I suck as one. And Ceres, you have NEVER fought me alone, otherwise you would have died, so don't talk crap like I ran from your Heretic, if I ran it was from a large group.

5) I suck as a Nihilist because I've been in a few spar, haven't even aliased/macroed my skills yet and don't plan to since I'm leaving them most likely.


So, in the end, get a clue, learn your facts, and grow up... I feel like I'm yet again, in middle-school .

Erm, Asarnil, a lot of people have complained about lunge/crush going through shield. It shouldn't.

Crush and Lunge should be changed where they don't hit through shield, but go through rebound/stance and parry.

Yes, but every single one of them was under the misapprehension that Lunge/Crush was changed to go through shields only recently, when it has been this way for months. If it was a problem before the Prismatic change, then why weren't people complaining about it then? It certainly wasn't due to lack of opportunity, as every single percieved class imbalance is whined about on these forums before the whiners even bother to get specifics and know what they are talking about.
