Hey, I finally finished this drawing and I was wondering if you all think its worth a shot in entering into the Artisanal...I'm really self-conscious about my drawings so this is a big step for me to actually show it to somone..
here it goes..
a shadow faeling girl
Its only average compared to artwork from other winners so..I dunno

Imo, it's worth a shot. I like the picture.
Doesn't matter even if it turns out average, it's nothing to be ashamed of so why not make an entry.

Athana2005-09-23 02:50:20

It's really good. Just add a little color is all.

I like it! Colours would be nice..but don't make her all shinysparklie Keep that dark tone, that's part of what makes it so awesome.
Acrune2005-09-23 15:41:16
99% sure you'll at least get merit as is. Color can't hurt though.
Athana2005-09-24 01:43:58

Bau2005-09-24 01:49:25

Its very good Athana, you should definately enter it. I've alawys liked hand-drawn pics better than total photoshoped ones personally. Probably because I do hand drawn, and can't draw crap in photoshop freehand. hehe

Athana try not being lazy with your hand when you draw lift it a little so that your palm doesnt touch the paper. Thats because when you're doing pencil shading tendency is to accidentaly smudge your work.
For shading practice with a well defined light source first so you get the hang of it.

I've always kind of liked the little smudging that the hand gives. *shrug* Personal taste.
Alger2005-09-28 11:22:46
Not saying you shouldnt smudge... some people like to, some people dont, its a techinque in itself. But like I said to avoid accidental smudging, meaning smudging in places that you dont really want to.
Athana2005-09-28 15:01:27
Some of it was meant to be smudged, other times I raised my arm and found pencil all along the side of it. I usually just go over and erase it, next time I'll try lifting my hand while I'm drawing. Thanks for the advice, Alger.

She looks so troubled. It makes me want to stare at it and wonder what happened to cause her so much grief.
Nonetheless, it is beautiful. It better win first place. *eyes the Admin*
