Welcome to The Taint Wars Game! As I said in the signup thread, this game will be run very much like the last Soulless Game. I will not reveal the setup or roles at game start, however, roles WILL be revealed upon death. If you know your Taint Wars history, you should be able to figure out at least some of the characters that are in this game. If you don’t, you should read it anyway because it’s good for all Lusternia players!
As for what is possible in this game, there are many things. As before, any role or variation thereof found in POSSIBLE ROLES may or may not be in this game. There may also be secret twists you don’t know about until they happen.
The RULES
1. No quoting the mod. This means, no copying and pasting your PMs from me into your posts.
2. There will be no discussion outside of this thread, except at night, and only those whose roles say they can discuss at night can and only with those their role states they can talk with.
3. There will be a lynch when there is a majority vote. Once there is a majority vote, STOP TALKING. There is to be no discussion about the game in the thread in twilight or at night. (I will keep up to date with votecounts and how many it takes to lynch will be posted in the votecounts).
4. Once you are dead, you are dead. STOP TALKING. You may post once to give a ghostly cheer to your team after your role is revealed, but nothing else.
5. You may vote NO LYNCH if you want to move on to the next day without a lynch.
6. All votes and unvotes must be bolded or they will not count. Also, you must unvote before voting someone else or your vote will not change. Format should be in the form of vote: Joe and unvote: Joe
7. Please do not edit your posts. I consider it cheating and it does affect gameplay. If you make a mistake, too bad. I can’t necessarily catch you at this, but please try to be a good sport about it.
8. I will place a deadline if there is too much inactivity during the day. If a deadline is hit, the person with the most votes (at least ½ of a majority) will be lynched, otherwise it will be a no lynch. If two people have the same number of votes and ½ a majority, the first to have reached the number of votes will be lynched.
9. If you break my rules, I will modkill you. I don’t care what your role is.
10. The mod is always right, except when I’m wrong.
11. Have fun!

I'm going to be polite and ask for no outside commentary once the game begins. This means stand-bys and non-players of various sorts!
I'll be keeping myself relatively quiet, unless I see need to point things out that might further enhance the gameplay of those present. Questions etc can be PMed to me or Ibaesha - questions could be about anything from how to play to what your role does in lay-man's terms.

I'm still waiting for Cwin and Goyel to confirm. If I don't hear from them soon, I'll grab up a couple of our eager replacements!
Ever wonder what a deadline looks like?
Deadline! All confirmations must be received by Saturday at 6PM EST. If I don't receive confirmation, you will be replaced.

Here's your story.
Night rode high in the Basin, shadows cast in an eternal blanket, pitch pierced solely by Moon's bright gaze. Songs of hope and Light rose from the Crystal Sea, shimmering brightly as Celest pushed back against a sphere of Taint. The winds howled in a violent rage as Hallifax shimmered faintly, crystalline spires reflecting light into angry gusts, pushing against clouds of Taint. Flames roared and volcanoes burts far to the southwest edge of the Basin, where Gaudiguch was choosing new leaders.
"Can you see anything, High Priestess?" A faeling asked, fluttering close. "Nothing, I fear. The Taint is strong." The elfen woman shook her head, running slender fingertips along the edge of a bowl, filled to the brim with glass-like water. "I hear the Spirits tell of -" "None of that. Not yet." She'd never seen the High Priestess so worried - but it showed only in her eyes.
"I am sorry Rowena, but we cannot remain," a husky voice said. Nodding slowly, an elfen woman of unparalleled beauty drumed her fingers on a raised root. "I understand. Go well, Nintoba," her voice was like silk. "I hope the best for you, Queen of the Gloriana, and Brother Stormcrow. May the Great Spirits guide you." A tall, bird-like elfen nodded vaguely at the now departing centaur. "Wise Raven sends word, and the Druid Council gathers, my love." Night's chosen nods for a moment, a dark frown crossing her lips. Her own words had been repeated to her - Night's words, more true. Things did not bode well for them.
"Princess, are you well?" Marilynth blinked for a moment, before nodding. "Ye-yes, I.. I am fine." "You will be raised Empress, soon," a merian handmaiden bore a wide smile. "I.. I saw my father in Gaudiguch." A frown crossed the younger maiden's features. "That was not your father. Nor were his companions the people we once knew." "I.. I know.." Adjusting her silk veil, Marilynth stared at herself in her mirror. What if it is truely my father, though...?
A small furrikin shuddered against the warm sea breeze, as he left the Emperor's Chalice. A tall, broad merian laughed beside him. "Lolly, la-laad! Fooorrr ssUck a shmaaawl ding, yoIOou SUure can hlOd your brandy!" Trying to laugh, Lolly simply fell drunkenly to the ground. Laughing, the sea captain picked him up easily. "I'll take you to your room, lad."

Dark clouds fumed from the tainted Stone of Truth, cracks ran wildly throughout Magnagora - streets and buildings were split in half, wildly some patches of earth bucked back and forth. Laughing maniacly, some diseased, half-rotten creature scampered about wildly. Gibbering to himself in what seemed pure non-sense, one can only wonder what indeed it was he was chewing.
Tugging her cloak close to her, the once Holy Mother grabbed at a young, well-built merian. "Emperor, which nex-" "Shut up about this already." Ladantine snapped back. "They will never let me use the Eternal Flame!" one cloaked figure barked, while a fourth murmured quietly to itself. A fifth just giggled off to the side. The young-looking merian threw him a few strange looks now and then, but figured it better off not to ask.

After penning a quick communiqué to be announced with the morning’s aetherwave broadcast, the furrikin sent it off and readied himself for a couple hours of rest. As he climbed into bed, he heard a voice. “Nosy little furrikin. You might’ve been useful.â€
He turned, peering into the darkness, recognition overcoming his features as he reached out in an attempt to light his bedside lamp. His fingers brushed the edge of the lamp just as he was jerked aside by a pair strong hands placing a crushing grip on his skull. Fear filled him as he struggled to free himself, but it was to no avail. The final moment of Lolly Pringle’s life was nothing but a sharp SNAP. The hands released him and he crumpled to the floor, his head twisted upon his furry neck in a gruesome fashion.
Waking up to find one of your number missing, a search reveals the body of Lolly Pringle, furrikin adventurer and reporter, completely lifeless. The touch of sorrow passes among you as you gather yourselves and head off to discuss how you can save the Basin from the threat of the Taint. Making your way to the meeting place, a brief message sounds over the Aetherwaves.
(Aetherwave broadcast) Globglob says, “All’s quiet here, keep listening!â€
Good morning.
Xenthos, Lolly Pringle, furrikin tracker and reporter has had his neck snapped.
With 17 alive, it's 9 to string 'em up!

Hmm... I'm going to wait to see if anyone else has something to go on before making any descisions...
Shiri2005-09-27 03:00:14
Don't know why we would. Poor furrikin.
EDIT: Crap. I bet he was our scrier.

Unknown2005-09-27 03:06:24
A tracker is not a scrier. A tracker simply follows someone, so all he would have seen was, 'Shiri went to Tsuki's house.' Come morning, if Tsuki was dead, there's a chance it was Shiri - but he could have been a scrier, or a roleblock, or a number of things.
Navaryn2005-09-27 03:07:04
Well, unless someone has a clue or something, I'll go with NO LYNCH
Munsia2005-09-27 03:08:55
Heh yay I get to say something this time... I'll wait till I hear more I suppose
Suhnaye2005-09-27 03:10:23
Its surprising only one person died... Seems that with so many people, there would be more night deaths... Any input?

Ah, got it. Nevermind then. Still would rather not have lost him! Furrikin ftw!
Munsia2005-09-27 03:13:04
Whyd they have to break his neck That's just sick
Cwin2005-09-27 03:17:07
Well, first day everyone. I never liked this part: it's always a good guy that gets lynched first.
We realy don't have anything to go on, realy, but we realy never do at first. I'm holding my vote for now in the hopes that someone (i.e. a scryer) has hit a lucky break first night (happened before).
