Totems

Now, I'm pretty sure I issued myself over this (the other issue I had was deleted, though the one about the thieves (Yukari and probably Yuniko) is still there). I might have bugged it, but oh well.

But at present, if someone is bonded to a totem, they stay bonded. Regardless of the year and a day rule (which has never worked)....

Syntax: TOTEM BOND
TOTEM RELEASE
Power: 8 (Master Ravenwood)
You may bond with a totem pole for a year and a day. You may also release the
bond to your totem before that time.

And also regardless of the fact that they forget ALL druid's knowledge and change to other guilds, say the Geomancers or the Nihilists.

Also, there are still multiple totems in rooms all over the forest, which I was told to TYPOHERE and... well, they're still there. I'm not sure if they affect the original totem's bonder when they use totem skills, haven't had the old people around recently enough to check.

But anyway... please fix totems? At least make it so if you forget Crow/Stag you lose your totem bond?

I know I made a list of every room that had extra totems and I had the extra totem's ID numbers and posted it. I bugged Aurella about it who asked Shikari who basically said there's more important matters or some such thing. Those annoying totem bugs have annoyed me since as long as I can remember.

EDIT: Found the list.

Right now, I just want Aurella unbonded from the Totem at the Master Ravenwood. dry.gif

Welcome to the grief Serenwilde has been suffering since day one and been asking over and over to have fixed. You currently need to do exactly what we do. Ask your patrons to remove them and then replant and grow a new totem.
Bau2005-09-24 04:16:20
I asked one of them about the bonded totems, the response was to bug it, I think.

I'm sure the issue I put up was about the totems, and Glomdoring's been having the same issue all along (namely since the first druid left to become a Shadowdancer or something).

dunno.gif Obviously, there's more important things to do, but isn't it rather bad that a totem bonded to a Nihilist will still attack? *erm*

I'd like to point out the great amusement I find in this thread.

Does anyone else remember who tuned a totem against all of the Wilde, which ended up attacking novices, when she left the Hartstone and Wilde for Glomdoring?

Oh man, and Lisaera had to go and remove it.
Unknown2005-09-24 04:58:22
I was thinking that too.
Bau2005-09-24 05:00:28
Does anyone else remember my being enemied for no reason before it?

The tuning of the totem is fine, thank you.

It's the person bonded that's a problem. I was still a Stag user at the time.

Edit: I was mad because I'd just died twice for no reason that I could figure out at the time, and was hoping that the totem would hurt some big guys. I didn't think far enough ahead to realise it'd hit novices, too.

Right, but the complaining about totems being bonded by people who are gone off to other orgs (some in competition to your own) makes me laugh something fierce, that's all.
Bau2005-09-24 05:04:24
NON DRUID organisations.

I was STILL A DRUID.

So, if Blacktalon leave Glom for the Hartstone, you're saying we should tell them it's alright to keep their bonded totems and tune them against Glomdoring?
Unknown2005-09-24 05:08:46
And that SUDDENLY makes novice-killing better? You were still a druid? <3 And Yuniko's still a druid. smile.gif

I don't care if they're now Elder Gods or Soulless Gods or Demon Lords or porn stars. I simply find it amusing some one who left and kept a totem, and even tuned it against the organization they just left, perhaps out of some childish display of spite, perhaps not, is now whining about totems being bonded by people who are no longer apart of the Glomdoring.

Would it be any different if they'd all gone to join the Hartstone? Would it make it any better? Would you not complain because they tuned the totems against the Glomdoring and chased your whole four remaining novices away?

Of course not.
Bau2005-09-24 05:10:00
No smile.gif But if you want to start bashing on Bau, take it to the idiots forum, not this serious question.

I'd actually expected my totem to be lost when I left. dunno.gif But when you make someone mad when she hasn't done anything wrong (in her opinion) don't expect rationality.
Unknown2005-09-24 05:10:46
Don't get me wrong, I'm not bashing anyone. biggrin.gif I'm simply pointing out something I noticed.
Bau2005-09-24 05:10:57
I'm saying that it is COMPLETELY ILLOGICAL for someone who has NO CONNECTION TO NATURE to retain a CLOSE BOND TO A BLOODY TREE.
Bau2005-09-24 05:12:06
I'm not saying what Bau did was right, or nice. The thread has nothing to do with that. It has to do with several bugs.

Edit: Bau is a b censor.gif . This is the player, not the character, talking about several bugs she sees with the way Totems works, which have all been ignored for a LONG time now.
Unknown2005-09-24 05:15:38
I don't see why the concern is not valid, regardless of the author.

But what's a good thread on the General Thread, especially in Lusternia, without a couple of people dredging up the author's past? happy.gif

I've had to catalog these totems in the wilde that tuned wrong, or bonded by people that have left(and even changed to other orgs after that) For security reasons I shall not post their locations or statistics here. Though we -do- have them, and -have- had them, and if we've had to deal with them for a -year- in real life, then you can to.

The Divine have other things to do at this time I am sure, there is always that feeling I'm getting that something Big is right around the corner, heh. At any rate, unless you have got a totem attacking your members, simply sit back, bug it and WAIT. I know you are going to get pissed at me for saying that. But at the moment -I- am waiting for a much more important Bug fix, Quitely, calmly, meh slightly irritated, but willing because the Divine are working their butts off on other things.

wub.gif you Divine!
Bau2005-09-24 05:27:28
Dredge my character's past up all you like.

When it just turns into you have a b*tchfest, it belongs on the Idiots thread, not somewhere a serious question/problem is being asked.

I really would like to see it fixed.

I shouldn't have been able to tune the totem.

Aurella shouldn't be bonded to the totem at the Master Ravenwood Tree.
