A log of me trying to kill Ixion.
Damn heartstop, hehe.
Not a whinge thread, just observing how massive he is. And lamenting.
*laments*
8 cudgels in a row with no healing... and I couldn't even hit vitality
I know cudgel isn't that great, but 8 when you're sapped and can't clot much tends to produce a lot of bleeding.
Without further ado...

Cudgel blows. Thankfully, we have sap.

Besides Ixion's tankiness, that log also shows more how rediculously easy it is to keep anyone sapped inside a Druid Dreamweaver's demesne.
Sylphas2005-09-26 03:14:52
Dreamweavers have the easiest time keeping someone sapped. The problem isn't ever really after they're sapped, it's getting them to a position to sap them and keep them that way, which that doesn't show as well.
Ixion2005-09-26 03:25:15
I was having my way with Diamante on ethereal and I squinted to see Aesyra Thaemorn Malicia Diamante and two random serens. Run. Fast.
Was curing wounds and then he nicked me pretty good. I have to adjust some things when fighting you now. Oh yeah, and aside from sap being bugged, it's retarded. I cannot wait for titan and size 1.. *drool*
Edit: Nicely done Thaemorn, I did not expect that from you.

Ya, I'm not really sure how he could have prevented it, or gotten out of it once he was sapped, demesne keeps paralysing, broken legs, prone, falling asleep, getting thrown both off balance and equilibrium..
Shiri2005-09-26 07:51:40
Gotta use metawake. I learnt the hard way that even if I turn "narcowhore mode" on so his embedded narcolepsy mote triggers kafe rather than just an echo (which is what I had before because of epilepsy and crap), he can still get me to sleep. So metawake is essential. Not sure how well that'd work for a warrior though...I know I can keep it up indefinitely but that's with sprite and drawdown.
Thorgal2005-09-26 07:58:14
Knights can't keep up metawake heh, unless they stay unsurged and have high intelligence.
Gregori2005-09-26 07:58:26
I am the same way, I can pretty much keep Metawake constant with just perfection regen. Even being cudgeled and clotting and having demesne hit me forcing me to use mana, my sip is high enough that metawake is barely noticeable. Warriors would have a lot harder time of it, as would low int races overall.
Ixion2005-09-26 08:03:14
I figure under 10 hits would down him. Though I -have- to be unsurged and need to put up metawake beforehand. I have L2 mana regen, and L3 at night, and it'd still be a pain, really.

Yeah...I didn't think so. Are you including sparkles in that? Meh. :\\ He can afford to sip mana instead of health for the cudgel if he's surged (and possibly if he's not ) but that doesn't really work while sapped.
EDIT: And Ixion, you need to stop overestimating your weapons! Thaemorn isn't gonna die in ten hits if he's fighting back, and I'm not gonna die in four. They're insane, but not THAT insane.

Going to have to start my Trueheal rant soon, I think. I had Diamante in that position.. paralysed, broken limbs, narcolpetic, sapped, entangled, daydreaming... and he Truehealed and walked out.
Metawake - Honestly, one on one, warriors don't really need to Surge against me. I mean, look at that log. Do you really think that Ixion needed the extra health over the mana?
As for dying in eight hits... try four (two rounds). Maybe six, heh.
That sap/demesne/dreamweaving combo IS incredibly powerful, yeah.
But Lusternia combat tends to the extremes, I've noticed.
I attached the log of our first encounter, before I slipped away to heal and followed him to nab him from the trees.
Notice he took me from about 3000 down to 1000 in his combo?
Yes, there are steps to take for me to deal with that to decrease his chances of getting successful hits - parrying, stancing, rebounding. But at the same time, the warrior can also use protection scrolls and love potion to soften my offence, and shielding stops all demesne effects (which I need to nullify, not raze.)
So... first to get in a decent offence gets a big upper hand, on both sides. Neither selection of defences against the other are that solid or reliable, but they are there.
I also have an easier time hindering him, but he has an easier time crippling me with damage.
EDIT: Actualy attached the aforementioned log.

Sticking sap looks like childs play. Sap, web, bust a limb and the chances of surviving are little to none.
Ceres2005-09-26 15:00:13
I can deal with sap fine.
Torak2005-09-26 15:02:32
You use Thorgals system, no?
Ceres2005-09-26 15:03:11
My curing is irrelevant to the ability to deal with sap fine
Torak2005-09-26 15:03:50
Not at all, Thorgal's system handles it fine..you sit there and watch.
Thaemorn2005-09-26 15:14:49
I don't see your point, Torak.
Most people use systems to cure, and a lot of them don't require you to DO anything but sit there and watch or deal with other things while it takes care of the curing.

Torak2005-09-26 15:17:27
My point that it isn't ceres the person dealing with it, it is Thorgal's system. It was in response to her saying she handles it fine. Regardless, my point stands that sap is easy to stick.
Kaervas2005-09-26 15:36:35
Shame I got booted from the Blacktalon, sap would have been a nice skill to have. Ahh well at least I have forcefield and my nice demesne.
