I foresee titans getting one downgrade after another due to Kaervas soon.
And to our comment "Told you so.".. the gods will casually say, "We needed to be sure."

I have no clue how Kaervas killed Diamante there..
Gathering your power, you suddenly bring your hands together hard, causing a
powerful shockwave to explode out from your grip. Invisible energies slam
against your enemies in the area, flinging them backwards like rag dolls with
satisfying thuds as they land.
A forcefield around Kaervas flares, absorbing all damage.

Congraz Kaervas, even though I can never admit it IC

Yeah, Celest should get one too Still have no idea why Mag was pretty much given their own private bashing grounds so astral's uselessness has little effect on them *mutter*

You know, I'll take Gregori's comments about Serenwilde and their lack of bashing...but Celest has no room to speak on the subject. Wasn't it your idiotic people who drained astral to nothing to prevent Mag's (and others) from getting titan. Can't blame cities for getting around that, although like I said, I can see the SW complaints on the subject. No pity for Celest though.
Kaervas bashed a ton of crap beyond the catacombs, as I bumped into him bashing Gorgogs and Aslarans/Krokani quite a bit. Not to mention the few times that other areas (like Djarrakh) were open, and he would clear those out also.

There were several Magnagorans involved as well. The blame/honour/whatever for that does not rest solely with the few Celestians who drained Astral. Besides, the game's better off for not having that, but it doesn't change that Celest doesn't have its own bashing ground that way.

Mmm... misinformation.
No one really knows exactly who did it except the people who did, everyone blames someone else. But it most certainly wasn't just Celest, because we barely have enough people that can bash astral to do it so fast. Ands its definately not just Celest keeping it drained, as I've seen others doing it. So Celest most certainly has room to speak, and remember that 90% of what you hear on forums is total BS before you make a fool of yourself

Magnagora doesn't have their own bashing grounds either, they just choose to kill everyone they don't like that sets foot in it, they don't have any hardcoded advantage down there. I don't agree that we try and monopolize it, but saying "we got it handed to us" really isn't true. It aligns to us, but it's fair and neutral ground.
Its natural taint obviously doesn't play any part, since Magnagora's only viscanti combattant is Daevos. You'd have to be either stupid or zealous to be a viscanti.

Thats not trueeee. (and no i wasn't one who drained them to nothing originally)
Acrune2005-09-28 13:22:51

But don't we have to help the undead former commander of the Ur'Guard to get in, by giving him orcs to raise as undead? Don't the people who are against the existance of the undead have no reason to help him, and thus, no way to get into the catacombs?
Thorgal2005-09-28 13:27:06
No you don't, you just kill the commander and grab the key he drops.

Actually, if you look back on the forums, one person did admit to it. That person was Celestian and gave some crappy reason for doing it. Were others involved? Maybe, but like everyone else does on the forums, I will blame the group for the actions of one person.
We've heard it enough from others
Alger/Kaervas/Ixion/Daevos = all of Magnagora
Narsrim/Diamante(when he was SW)/Munsia = all of SW
Why doesn't this rule apply to Celest?

I used to think Viscanti was an awesome race, but then I experienced sip penalty on an alt...never again.
Malicia2005-09-28 14:40:09
Thorgal should know how much of a pain it is to even bother hunting in catas if you aren't Mag or Glom.
One day, Thorgal, Rafael and Malicia went on a hunting expedition in the catas. We got jumped there. I think Thorgal died, I spored out and Rafael teleported to me. Who wants to deal with that just to bash there? The mobs are painful enough. I don't understand their need to protect it and isn't it more accessible to Magnagora? I haven't explored it fully yet.
Yes, we all have had our share of astral jumpers, but you're guaranteed to get jumped hunting in the catas. But oh well. Just have to sneak and do it.
I was told that a few Mags, two in particular, hunted the ur'dead in the Shallach ruins.

Yar.
Basically ur'Guard are humans (for high levels), aslarans (for wounding knights) and orclach (for damage knights).
Murphy2005-09-28 14:48:49
psh, orclach are better wounding knights than aslaran with all that str they got!
Jack2005-09-28 15:34:05
Nahhh. They do more wounding damage, but they're also much slower, and have less chance of performing specialty wounds even when the bodypart is at the required stage for certain wounds to be pulled off.
In essence, if an aslaran BC and an orclach BC both had a victim at 2000-odd damage on his head, the aslaran would be more likely to get off a bashbrain by smiting down than the orclach, though the orclach might get said victim up to 2000-odd wounds more quickly.
Ya dig?
