Ixion has lightning elemental swords.

3955h, 4720m, 3955e, 10p exk-
With a focused look, Ixion strikes at you with a exquisitely crafted draconic
broadsword. The blade bounces off your sternum, delivering only a shallow
puncture.
3239h, 4720m, 3955e, 10p exk-

716 damage

3955h, 4720m, 3955e, 10p exk-
You remove a sweeping crimson cloak.
3955h, 4720m, 3955e, 10p exk-
This cloak is made of heavy yet comfortable cotton, sweeps regally down
to the wearer's ankles. Dyed a deep crimson, it looks good enough for a
night out on the town while still maintaining ruggedness and warmth for
long days spent in the wilderness. A round dome of silver, smoothed to a
dull finish, clasps the cloak over one's shoulders. A small ebony crow
is embroidered on the inside bottom hem.
It has 29 months of usefulness left.
It weighs about 1 pounds and 8 ounce(s).
It bears the distinctive mark of Veonira d'Murani, the Earth Wench.
It is protected against electricity.

Conclusion, the elemental proof does not work.

This means I can stop stocking quicksilver in the guild shop, right? halo.gif

Mercury is such a pain to find.
Shiri2005-09-26 08:14:37
That would explain a lot.

Shiri2005-09-26 08:21:31
Okay, no it wouldn't.

A bolt of whitest lightning streaks down from the heavens and engulfs you. You
writhe and shake in noiseless agony as the pure electricity ripples over your
body.

I have no excuses. Only warriors. sad.gif

The same startlingly white shade as a fresh snowfall, the silk used to
create these robes is so thin that it seems to float about the wearer,
lending an almost ethereal aura. The sleeves are cut long, made to
extend nearly to the fingertips, and though the train ends a good
distance below the ankles, dirt never seems to collect on it. A sash of
shining golden cloth drapes around the waste; fifty-one tiny bells of
pure gold hang from it, tinkling merrily with the slightest movement.
It has 34 months of usefulness left.
It weighs about 3 pounds and 0 ounce(s).
It bears the distinctive mark of Danubis.
It is enchanted with the web spell, holding 0 charges.
It is protected against electricity and magic.

(Don't ask why my robes have web.)

23 damage?

It's not worth the mercury required!
Shiri2005-09-26 13:11:03
Well, it probably helps a little more for lightning runes, Druid storm just sucks.

That's like 10% right there, so.
Bau2005-09-26 13:18:01
So someone needs to test it with something better smile.gif

Still not worth the mercury, I doubt it helps 10% all the time. rolleyes.gif

...blink.gif It does help 10% all the time. What makes you think it doesn't help 10% all the time?

*points original post*
Shiri2005-09-26 14:34:36
That's 'cause it's on a cloak...not greatrobes. huh.gif
Bau2005-09-26 16:30:19
I didn't read that before.

Cloaks and coats CANNOT be proofed against anything but cold or fire. Obviously, that was either bugged, or proofed some time ago.

Edit: crying.gif Can you tell I've been on here for 19 hours now?
Thorgal2005-09-26 21:51:34
It was proofed when I went trill, a few days ago..

Murphy came into the IRC once saying this. I was SURE it wasn't the case, so I asked Lisaera, who went in and actually tested it and said you could do it. Sooo. wacko.gif
Bau2005-09-27 03:18:15
I tried to electricproof a cloak two days ago.

Nada. Message: You can only fireproof and coldproof this item.

Syntax: FIREPROOF
You can cure a coat in a fire potion, which will give the wearer some
protection against fire and other sources of heat. This uses a full potion of
fire.

Syntax: COLDPROOF
You can cure a coat in a frost potion, which will give the wearer some
protection against cold. This uses a full potion of frost.

Syntax: MAGICPROOF
You can cure a great robes in a elixer vitae, which will give the wearer some
protection against magic. This uses a full vial of elixer vitae.

Syntax: ELECTRICPROOF
You can cure a great robes in a quicksilver potion, which will give the wearer
some protection against electricity. This uses a full potion of quicksilver.

Bau2005-09-27 03:45:13
And I'll test it again later, but... I couldn't do it a few days ago myself.

Shiri2005-09-27 08:22:07
I had a lightning proof cloak. It decayed like 4 days ago though so I had to get a new Lyren-made one.
Thorgal2005-09-27 08:25:57
Only too bad they don't work..
Vix2005-09-27 21:32:51
The log with Ixion's runed swords may just be a fluke. Warriors seem to do different damage every single time for no reason (they do right?). Maybe test a few more times? Only a third of the damage is electric anyways.
Thorgal2005-09-28 06:06:15
Heh, I had him jab me over and over with and without electricproof, and the damage remained exactly the same.. 716.

Lightning proofed cloaks aren't working.
