I voted guardians- barely over mages. Warriors are just too easy to hinder/parry/rebound/dodge via stancing.

Which reminds me, guardian pets are ridiculously overpowered. Yep.

Warrior by far. I've never been scared of geomancers, especially with how weak both mages are out of demesne. And while fighting Nihilists, I'd just kill the demon, and they get easier... although I haven't fought any 1v1 that would hang around enough for me to kill it.

Ever fought wiccans? You can't decide on what to kill first... sleep.gif

You really need to level up bigtime. You cant kill ents in arenas. You're a merian.. which means you take loads of extra damage- if proofs -ever- get fixed, that'll help you out.
Acrune2005-09-27 22:44:20
1) I'm level 82, if thats what you meant by level.

2) I don't care about arena fighting as much as out of arena fighting for obvious reasons. And I already knew about not being able to kill ents in there.

3) And proofs don't help me against freaking swords cutting off pieces of me while doing thousands out of my 3000 health in damage.

Faught Faethan once, and targetted fae (short for faethan) for a bit and killed a couple (then they came back due to arena-ness). Other then that, no.

Just noticed your word choice there. Interesting statement. If by taking loads of extra damage, you mean breaking like a soggy paper towel, instead of soggy toilet paper, then maybe. Maybe.
Asarnil2005-09-27 22:56:54
The only time warriors are overpowered are when they have the old rapiers with 220+ wounding and preferably the extra-long weapon names that zmud has problems tracking or when they spend a month at the forge per broadsword and then attach 4300 credits worth of runes to said swords (and preferably an extra 1400 credits for the Torc too).
Shryke2005-09-27 22:59:46
I agree asarnil, but why is it that Warriors are such creddy whores compared to the other archetypes...?
Daevos2005-09-27 23:02:55
Because they need to be.

I am surprised a warrior would even dare to continue to use what is stated in that quote. The lunge type abilities bypass all of those but stancing (Also must remember that warriors regain balance twice as fast when they miss and dodging only works if the person happens to be in the right stance). You can also get past the stancing by placing the target in a prone like condition (stun, prone, paralysis). So in the end, the warrior is only hindered by those abilities as long as he or she does not have power. Since some can kill with just a few lunges and such, being hindered by what is mentioned in the quote is not such a major concern for them.

Kaileigh2005-09-27 23:15:26
For me. Warriors. Same reasons all my Guild members have mentioned.

You do remember walking in a killing me on water in like 2 hits without me even reacting.. oh an hour ago? I died so fast I shouldn't even target you. Or that time on astral?

I may not be amaru but I'm almost at the same level as geb. It's not quite that east to "level up bigtime" when I constantly die defending, doing dumb things, or just being jumped because I was an easy target.

I disagree. I see that Terenas does very well without them.
Shamarah2005-09-27 23:18:00
Why should mages need to be level 85+ with tosha/life blessing/arties to have a chance against someone like Ixion?
Richter2005-09-27 23:19:24
I think mercenaries are overpowered.

Ah, my little fanciful meat shields. They do their job well.

Because he spent a buttload of creddies on his swords?

Funny how almost all warriors point guardians and mages point warriors.
Daevos2005-09-27 23:31:32
So Geb, you would think it would be perfectly fine for our main form of offense to be counterable by three passive methods without us having any way to bypass those counters? Lunge/Crush/Assault/Sweep are the only way that we are able to successfully utilize any overall strategy in combat against anyone who can parry/stance well. Without them, we would be almost completely neutered and only capable of depending on damage output from randomly targetted attacks to somehow win the day.

On your hindering comments though, most warriors are extremely susceptible because of their large size. Simply webbing can lock us down for longer periods of time and allow the other archetypes' passive offense to continue to assault us as you are allowed to heal freely. Even races with no equilibrium bonus can effectively lock me in entanglement with only less than a second of freedom, as Aerenna demonstrated recently.

Personally though, I'm still interested in seeing how well you would do as a warrior.
