If done correctly, yeah, it should.

There's not really that much difference between being sapped on the ground or in the trees. It's not like anything stops treelife anyway, summon resistance certainly doesn't. So it's just a case of timing it better. Trees don't have any better or worse afflictions, either, just more bleeding. So you could even say you're better off being sapped on the ground. The only exception would be ancestralcurse, but he didn't actually use that in the log so it wouldn't've hurt him.

Err... doesn't swarm only hit in the trees?

no
And a tip for all you people I advise you be in the trees more often against ecologists or you are in for some tough times

My Bad. But yea, smudges are a pain, unless you start to change all your climb down triggers to check for ecologist, and climb up.

Gregori2005-09-29 05:27:38
You are far better off being sapped on the ground than in the trees. Not that we can't move you to the ground anyways once you are sapped. One little shove or treebane and down you go.
As for it being lowered in cost. It was envoyed that it be lowered. We can turn around and say that being able to "lunge" for less than 10 power is utter BS as well.

Etc, etc. Punctured aura is a delayed cure, similar to regeneration cures, so you'll need to set something up so you don't waste herb balance on reishi every time you get it back.

Before people start crying bug abuse, I'd like to note that sapping him on the ground was a mistake, not intentional.
It hit that time of the fight when I go for sap and my usual finishing follow up... I went for sap, he wasn't there, and I automatically went down and repeated like I usually do. I try not to sap on the ground, since we still don't know if it's a bug or not, and I never have before this. It was just a human error in the key mashing. Usually in the trees like that, I attack, and if they're not there it means they've climbed down and I didn't see them (shrouded) so I just quickly go down and repeat it. And I accidently did the same for sap this time.. so.. yeah. Sorry
Anyway, in response - Kahazul, work on your punctured aura curing, and cure narcolepsy (kafe). I wasn't doing anything major with sleep attacks, just a kafe mote.
Remember to dissolve, too, I'm not sure if you actually did (but I can't remember what Geo effects Protection stops anyway).
Demesne wars are such a pain though. Break, break, break, attack, break, attack, break...
And like Avaer said, maybe try something else other than damage. You were actually hurting me a fair bit, to be honest. But with your demesne effects not constant it can be a bit of a problem. What's your 3rd skillset, by the way?
Unless you're Kaervas and hitting me for 1500ish a hit at Mugwump speed

PS Word about sapping on ground being bug or not would be greatly appreciated
Thorgal2005-09-29 16:46:53
There's a huge difference between being able to be sapped on the ground or only in the trees: avoidability.
It better be made to only work in the trees again, especially after the powercost got lowered to 5p. Because like Sylphas said, it's horribly overpowered like this.
Just like lunge going through prismatic barriers and pentagrams is overpowered, neither means it's justified.

Once again its not his fault about the curing. Ethelons Free system is a death wish.... everything is messed up in it and thats why it's free.. or so everyone says

Okay, it works better than -my- manual curing.

I can imagine manual curing not being that bad on zMUD or MUSHClient. The main problem with it is when highlights don't work (N.B on java this happens often) so you miss stuff and get screwed.
