Faeling are tankier than you would think, looking at their con. Especially with telekinesis. However, they are not as tanky as Tae'dae, by far. It'd be good, but is it really what he's looking for?

Well, you would certainly be unique in Lusternia, and when I look at the amount of mobile damage staffcast does even at slow speed, you can just get a knowledge blessing and for bashing you won't be worse off than a loboshigaru celestine or nihilist.
Try tae'dae, and when it really doesn't work out, you can always use your free reincarnation. Overall faeling will be much better, since they will be immensely tanky with forcefield, but not unique.

For bashing and fighting people who are not well versed in a psion's weaknesses, being a Faeling would be the way to go. When you are going against people who do know how to easily remove the Psion faeling's tankiness, then you will find that you will go down to burst damage a lot quicker than a Tae'dae.
