So, I never really thought about it, but I realised that I didn't have a clue what other cities/communes dreamed about. All we ever get in Celest are nightmares about dark things doing... dark things and stuff, and some generic fear things. I've assumed until now that each nation has their own set of unique dreams (though I suspect more than most of them are just generic ones but I might be wrong). I'm loath to waste time making alts in different places just to go to sleep so, to sate my curiosity, can we see what the rest of you are dreaming about? Please!
Here are the ones that I think are Celest specific:
Standing on the platform above the Pool of Stars, you get an awe-inspiring view
of the Nexus from above. Meleris, the pool's Keeper, casually moves over to the
water's edge far below and lays his hands upon its surface in a routine check.
Sparks of light dance around him, but the energy abruptly twists and warps to
red and black, becoming viscous. The Keeper lets loose a deep and twisted yell
of pain and revulsion as all goes dark...
You stand in a white room which flares to life around you with no visible
escape. Out of nowhere, a man approaches you with an angelic white hood
covering his head. As the man glances up, you recoil in horror, for his face is
twisted and oozing in a sick parody of a smile. A drop of his black blood drips
to the floor and spreads, filling your vision with its inky darkness. From the
black echoes a voice: "We come for you. You, and all your city... you will be
as we are..."
Standing upon the mighty wall which surrounds New Celest, you look out over the
Inner Sea which practically glows with soft morning sunlight. A shadow sweeps
across the water, bringing the darkest of midnights on its black wings as it
rears up above the Star of Celest. With an ear-splitting shriek and splayed
claws, it dives at the Star, and a sinking feeling grips you as the scene fades
away.

Heh, all of Celest's dreams involve them getting their asses tainted. Love it.
Shinza2005-09-29 14:11:43
Ah, would be nice if all of Magnagora's dreams involve them getting burned up in columns of topaz light!

More like "drinking fine wine in your fancy mansion with all your friends while your personal bodyguard tortures some miserable merian and elfen", or "a banquet consisting entirely of the carcasses' of the inferior races". I'd sleep to find 'em out for ya, but I'm truefavoured at the moment, so...

Got one!
EDIT: Another, I think:
QUOTE
Opening your eyes, you look down upon yourself and see that you are dressed in a set of flowing and official black robes which dance and billow in a dramatic
wind. Before you stands a ravenwood podium, facing a huge crowd of people that
listen intently and wait for you to speak. Your mind blanks out for a bare
moment, but then you remember, and begin to recite a spirited speech exalting
the Engine of Transformation. Soon, the crowd begins to roar, their fists
raised in pride and triumph. You join them, pumping your arm in the air, as the
rows of roaring citizens roll towards you like a giant wave.

You are standing in the fields of Acknor, supervising the orc slave masters as
they force furrikin farmers to work. As you become bored with the screams of
one of the furrikin you glance up briefly - only to be shocked into stillness
by the massive body of slime falling from above, directly towards you! You leap
out of the way just in time as the disgusting blob slams into the ground,
crushing a particularly stupid orc. Horrifying creatures of tentacle and slime
form out of the blob, dropping to the ground and beginning to attack the nearby
farmers, tearing their tiny bodies apart viciously. You turn and sprint away to
find help as the dream fades away.

The dreams in Lusternia are so depressing. Why can't we have more good ones?
Acrune2005-09-29 14:27:26
I still think it would be neat if the dream was good or bad depending on the number of dream leeches were about, because on the water plane, when the leeches leave, it says something about them having fed on a dream and turned it into a nightmare.

That banquet thing, we get too. Must be a generic one. But how come you people get a real DREAM (that podium speech thingy) instead of all the nightmares we get, bah... Magnagoran endorphins are overpowered, nerf!

You sit yourself down at the head of a large banquet table and begin to speak amiable smalltalk with your guests. Soon after, guards come in with several miserable merian and elfen in tow. You motion the guards on and they push the prisoners past the guests and out of the banquet hall. As you take a drink of fine wine and continue your conversation, screams of unbearable torment echo around from the direction the guards left.

QUOTE
A sudden sense of loss and mourning overcomes you, and the vision of a golden explosion appears before you, the terrible beauty of the powerful golden light flashing across the sky of your mind. A large green disc impinges upon your consciousness, the golden light moving all around it, and flowing inside it. The disc absorbs the light, glowing brilliantly, though its light does nothing to soothe the strange sadness that envelops you, as if something very precious is lost...
QUOTE
You stand at the summit of Avechna's peak with a sharp wind blowing in your face and the world spread before you. Sections of Lusternian land can be seen distantly through a cloudscape that reaches to eternity, while the sky above is a beautifully painted dome interspersed with stars. History stands at your back, and with the future ahead of you, you spring into a bolting run and leap from the mountainside into the open air...
QUOTE
You are encased within a bubble whose surface shifts and shimmers with patterns like oil on water. Far beneath you, Lusternia drops away to a smoking volcanic mountain range, offering beautiful views of white geysers and lava lakes. As you pass over one such lake, the bubble pops without warning, sending you plunging towards the fires below.
QUOTE
A gentle, slightly damp feeling awakens you, like being licked by a puppy. Groggily you glance over, but your sight is obscured by slithering shadows. A faint terror begins to rise within you, but you reassure yourself that you are safe. Suddenly, you feel something winding wetly around your leg, and you sit bolt upright, looking around groggily before drifting back to sleep.
QUOTE
You are strolling casually down the street when a passerby catches your attention. He begins to wave his arms and dance about like a lunatic, although no other pedestrians take notice, as though you are the only one who sees him. Quite suddenly, he vanishes in a puff of overdramatic smoke, leaving you perplexed and confused.

Hee, I just had this one, the first time I've seen it...
Darkness surrounds you. Suddenly, a resounding clashing noise startles you, and
you look up to see two truly massive balls of silver floating through the
black. Each sphere seems to be a mile or more across and the two spheres which
created the noise have joined where they touched. Looking beyond, many similar
balls float through the void, coming together and breaking apart in some
indecipherable pattern.
Obviously dreaming of the Astral plane, and... being able to hunt there again. Or something
Okay, not a Celestian dream, but I thought it was cool nonetheless!

We have several dreams from Brennan regarding Crow, left over from the Dreamweaver thing, I believe.
Bau2005-09-29 17:53:13
Incorrect. Left over from the Blacktalon being created.
Unknown2005-09-29 18:55:46
There's also that nice dream Raezon used to give out for leaving His order. I bet I still have it.. but it's not like I'm sleeping anymore..
Unknown2005-09-29 19:46:48
If people don't like having so many nightmares, why not throw out some ideas for new dreams, or make a thread for it on the ideas board?

That's Celest mourning the fact that it's become Serenwilde with seashells and gravel roads.

Sounds like a Hajamin-order dream about him comforting Viravain in the Void? Dunno.

I don't have access to them right now, being fully rested and all, but we get one about Kethuru attacking Stewartsville and one about Ackleberry being screwed.
