I hate to be negative... but like what Lisaera said about Hallifax and Gaudiguch, we probably wouldn't have the playerbase to support them. Moral: convert more people to Lusternia!!

I don't know.. I'd say archetypes would be somewhat different, and their design plan might have them included regardless. If things worked that way Lusternia would go into old school Aetolia mode.

I want bards, I'm going to make a character named Elan, sing a lot, and act like a total fool.
I'll take lessons from Kidaen.
...singing lessons!

Totally offtopic, but...
Richter... reads... Order of the Stick?
*crumbles slowly like a FF boss*
EDIT: Once again, Cuber the Post Block stopped the discussion in an interestin' thread. Go me.

Shapeshifter = good, but there's better ideas to be had! I don't get why everyone's suggesting thieves and bards and other stuff. So boring and unoriginal. New stuff, people!

I'd like to see something vastly different for each commune and city. No parrallel's this time - no "balancing" counter-part.

As for shapeshifting, we already know that the Illuminati (the guardians from Gaudiguch) viewed physical transformation as a good, possibly even holy thing. They weren't entirely perturbed about the changes wrought in the council members who were with Ladantine on Astral when they were all zapped by the node. I think I recall something about them (the Illuminati) wearing voluminous golden robes and all that could be seen were their faces and from time to time their clawed hands. But I could be wrong.
Celestine: Now, let me see what you're hiding under that thar robe... *peek*
Illuminati: Are you sure you want to do that?
Celestine: ZOMGNOOOOOOOOOOOO! *claws eyes out*

Oh yea... my other idea that will get shot down in a hurry.
Alchemist or Mechanic with the abilities to create rudimentary machines or weapons of some sort. Sort of a mix of magic and machinery. Why else does the Lusternia homepage have a bunch of gears and such?Â

you mean like gadgeteers on final fantasy tactics? that's what what you said reminded me of.

I am 100% sure that if Estarra and company want each city to have 1 additional archetype, they already know what it will be. And if they don't want to, this thread certainly won't change their opinions.
But feel free to speculate anyway. It's fun.
As far as I go, I think the 4th archetype will be... nah, it won't work.

Figure this would be better in Ideas.

Pah, saw Estarra posted and hoped for some juicy tidbit of info

Spiritual warriors of some description. We have physical warriors and mages (Knights/Mages/Druids), and we have spiritual mages (Guardians/Wiccans), but no spiritual warriors.
Something like.. um.. phantoms? Messengers? Edit: Now that I think about it, some sort of monks might fall in that category too.
Eh, I don't know. I'm happy with the current selection.

I told Kalodan the fourth archetype should be completely for roleplay uses - no skills will do harm, use all the roleplay skills that we have in other threads. But then people will whine and groan about how horrible they are and everything, then we will be sad for they will leave.

Meh. Ok.
I will say that somewhere in this thread the next probable archetype that we would work on, if we decided to work on a new archetype now (which we aren't), may have been briefly mentioned.
How's that for a juicy tidbit?
Terenas2005-09-30 02:35:30
Whoo, I'll have to join the Merchant guild when it comes out then.

YES!
YES!

Astrology updates.

Mmm, tidbits. I bet it's Shiro's clown idea!

A monk like Archtype is what I'd like to see. Spirit (dreamweaving/Astrology), Mind (Telepathy/Telekenisis/Psionics) and Body (Athletics with a choice between Polearm, Dagger or Unarmed combat), although since Athletics doesn't stop at Master (does it?) it would probably need a different primary skill that branches off, which has the Tekura like forms (and so, would fit into the Performance circle)
Of course, they wouldn't be called Monks (overused?). Would be the Martial Archtype.

Fine, since this is all for fun and games.
SHADOWSNAKES! SHADOWSNAKES..WITH PHASE.
Yes, I was one of those people who gave phase a bad name, and I'm glad, GLAD I TELL YOU.
And I'd do it again in an instant.
