bookbinders should get an influence boost. They should be able to wear reading glassess that makes them look more inteligent to the person they are tring to influence.

Reading glassess could also inable them to see hidden items automatically. (Quest items)

Oh and while I'm at it, and I'm not saying this should be changed, just demonstrating my point: everyone starts with a perfectly adequate (in fact more than adequate, because it resets and can't be nexus'd) book of their own, so people who just want one for RP have no use for another.

Also library submissions are just as well off in a pamphlet/scroll as in a bigger book.

Yeah, there should be a definate limit on page length / text holdable for each type of book. Otherwise the much more expensive items will never ever see the light of day.

Make the smallest hold like 50 lines. Each upgrade in size is what, another 50 lines? With the biggest books having multiple pages of course so it can hold 50 pages of X lines per page. (throwing out random numbers, not sure on an adequate page length for the smallest things, just an idea).

I don't know why they'd require different amounts of lines per page, seeing as they...get more pages, but yeah.

Well, first there'd be ONE page for things like a scroll.

I mean c'mon, it's one long sheet of paper around two sticks. Duh.

Pamplets would have like 2? 3? pages....etc. Start with one page short length at smallest, gradually add either lines, OR pages. Till at books you have sortakinda like journals. Lots of lines, lots of pages, suitable for putting things in like long stories, or multiple essays, etc.

How it works is, pamphlets and scrolls (org and personal) have 1 page, textbooks and journals 25, books and compendiums 50, codexes and manuals 75, omnibii and tomes 100. Not sure if you just didn't know that or if you're proposing an overhaul for some reason.

Didn't know they had the pages thing.

Coo.

Now make the pages shorter so there's a damn USE for the bigger books.

Right now I can put my five chapter, 2500 word story on the cheapest thing (scroll yeah?)

That should require at least a textbook/journal sized thing.

Scrolls and pamphlets have 2 pages, Shiri.
