Improved Influencing while Mounted(i.e, a mobile throne).

1) Mounts should be able to wear barding (armour) and silks.

2) The silks provide +1 charisma when influencing loyal denizens*

3) The barding provides +1 Charisma when influencing guards*

*Bonuses should only apply while mounted and in an outdoor environment.

Rally Guards

1) A new city provided influencing skill with an appopriate power cost.

2) A mounted player with barding and silks should be able to rally loyal guards.

3) City Rank, Influence Skill, and the number guards present in the room should determine the difficulty.

4) The effects should be time-limited. The benefits (others may suggest what those might be) would improve with City Rank.

Improved influencing seems to have first been mentioned back in July, when Ceren listed this among other ideas for riding.

It sounds cool, but.. I'd hate to see something like this.

CODE
Daevos strides in from the north on a dark nightmare. He is followed by an Ur'guard Marshal, Ur'guard Marshal, Ur'guard Marshal, Ur'guard Marshal, Ur'guard Marshal, Ur'guard Marshal, and Ur'guard Marshal.

Daevos points (insert his custom sword name) at you and the rallied troops give out a yell.

And then droolish violence ensues. Though if they made some sort of war system... but nah. ninja.gif

Maybe I'm just jumping the gun though. I like the idea, but not in the context I used.

Um, he can already do that. Any security member can do that. At least in home territory. Guards still won't follow in villages. Elementals, at least.

I like the idea of the Influencing bonus with Riding, actually.

Or maybe even make it an ability in Riding (to add to the list of suggestions biggrin.gif)

(couldn't think of a name that didn't sound terrible. NobleSaddle? glare.gif )
You ride like you were born in a saddle. Such finesse, such nobility! No wonder others will be more susceptible to your influence when you approach them on your steed.

Passive ability, low in the skillset.

This has nothing to do with influencing, but it was something I submitted with IDEA in game. Figured I'd share here and see what people thought.

A skill in riding that will allow you to carry one person as a passenger on your mount.

This would be nice little 'transportation' alternative but also for roleplay. Here's a list of points that should be considered for this minor skill.

1) The passenger has to be willing, maybe the mount's owner and the passenger have to be on each other's ally list or a command that acts like LEARN - OFFERRIDE Malicia - Malicia would see something like 'Rizzen holds out his hand towards you, offering to transport you upon his mount" (command can only be used when mounted)
"Type 'OK" to accept" Malicia does OK and then sees "Using Rizzen's hand to balance yourself you accept his offer, climbing up upon his steed to sit behind him"

2) If the mount owner dismounts, the passenger is forced to dismount, the steed wont accept passengers without it's owner being mounted, if the owner is mounted the mount knows it's "safe" to allow the passenger.

3) While you have a passenger you are unable to use any combat related skills within the riding skillset (ie trample) the extra weight prevents mobility, as for the passenger, in order to stay on the mount safely you're no doubt holding on to the main rider, therefore no aggressive action can be taken by you (you can talk, get things from your pack, give items so on so forth, but you cant attack with your weapons)

4) Unlike with FOLLOW, if you are a passenger you'll still be with the mount and rider even if the rider spurs the steed skywards or gallops.

5) When someone enters the room and sees you upon your steed, the same kind of description line will be seen for your passenger - something like "Malicia is here, mounted as a passenger on a sleek russet horse" (or whatever the mount is)

If think that's everything I thought of about this. I really see it more of a transportation alternative and as a roleplaying aide - A mentor showing his protege the villages under their commune or city protection, the lovers riding out to a secluded spot for a picnic... You get the idea)

I thought it would be a nice little touch, interested to see what any one else thinks.

Stay safe!
