Back to Common Grounds.

That is a neat trick, unfortunately that trick only works for those with flow (and perhaps a cubix). For the rest of the population (excluding mages who can force flood/taint when possible), it is still a deathtrap.

My comments were aimed primarily at druids. However, me getting demesne summoned to a group of people in a Geomancer demesne is a death trap.

Yes, but I was not toting some solution to the problem as your post seemed to indicate. My response was to the fact that your solution will not work for everyone.

I am wisped back easily before I can recover equilibrium from flow. Don't forget you have Mugwump equilibrium.

All they need is paralysis or a second wisper, and it's all over.

So what exactly was the situation? It sounds like it was you versus lots of people... in which case, I would assume lots of people had the advantage.

How often are you wisped to a single raider?

I do it all the time to kill people...
Shiri2005-11-02 04:10:39
blink.gif No one on the other team does it, really. I'm always wisped into a team if at all.

You can't seriously be arguing that wisp is reasonable at the moment?

Now Elryn, I know you can read. This thread has many many posts where I said that wisp is retarded at the moment. However, I suggested that druids/wiccans can at least compensate for it with Flow at the moment to get out of danger. You said in your example... and given we have the highest summoning resistance by skills, I'd think if you were constantly flowing out (even versus two people) and healing in the process, you'd be ok. Maybe not.

Summon resistance at size 6 is about 2/3 for us, so Elryn has less than that, and even then if he flukes out he'll probably get nailed soon enough.

Summoning resistance added by red, roots, and rock are not dependent upon size. Size just adds more, I believe.

Furthermore, I wasn't attempting to argue he could stay in the local area forever, but they should fail at some point to where he can burrow or get out of the local area after flowing out.

Nope. It goes - wisped/flow/wisped/afflicted/flow/wisped/more afflicted/dead. Come back, try setting up my demesne again, repeat wisping.

I haven't resisted once that I can remember since these stupid omni-forest changes were put in.

Edit: Actually, yes, I resisted three times the first time I was wisped FROM MY DEMESNE. So there you go, sometimes we can resist.

From personal experience, I'd say the average druid/wiccan resists 1/5 wisps. Of course, I have no idea what the size range in that is.

How many people were wisping you?

I used to think that actually, but as I say it's closer to 1/2. (I just realised the 66% was for tackle by a moggy, not wisp/demesne summon, which is 1/2.)
Unknown2005-11-02 04:37:15
This time, I'd guess one.
Vix2005-11-02 05:24:09
Hm, the change where wisp goes through mono happened a while ago and we're supposed to have another way to stop it now. Has it been implemented yet?

Says who? Hajamin only said there was a chance for another potential change and didn't go any further than that.
Vix2005-11-02 05:33:11
Well, the way it is now is obscenely... dare I use it? Overpowered!

All of the posts above say it's rediculous as it is now. It either needs a counter or some other tweak.

The changes are being made, and it wasn't intentional to leave the ability so open to 'powergaming' as it is now. You definitly have apologies on that, and maybe you can all come to some sort of resolution, maybe even (gasp, roleplay!) in game until it is finished.
