Serenwilde and Glomdoring are going to be able to slaughter each other silly. I can't understand the logic of this change at all.

It isn't like Narsrim wouldn't have thought of it sooner or later anyways. rolleyes.gif
Narsrim2005-10-22 04:11:01
Narsrim's idea:

- Change flow back. Serens only can use Flow in natural forest. Glom in infested forest (NOT LOCAL AREA *fume*)

- Change wisp back. Too powerful as is

Well, you can always ask Magnagora to wasteland away your forest. We could do the same with Celest.

Changing wisp to go through monoliths will now make it near impossible for anyone to escape wisp traps. Since more than one wiccan can attempt a wisp-summon, a person walking into the same forest terrain as the wisp users might as well fast forward to his or her after being wisped escape plan, because he or she will more than likely not escape the wisp attempts.

Personally I think the recent batch of changes are rather off the mark compared to the past. First flow and wisp are changed to work from natural to natural and infested to infested, which confused people as to what actually changed as thats how it was meant to work and was posted in the past to work, untill it was found out that opposing groups can use their opposing groups demesne with their abilities (such as Seren's flowing and wisping in infested forest or vice versa) and many/most agree that it should be changed back on both sides. Then flow is 'nerfed' to only work local area, which while could be seen as one way to add a downside was a major downgrade, and alot see it as could have been done better with something else, such as a power cost was mentioned before the way it is, or perhaps afflictions interferring such as with most other non-spore escape methods (entangled/paralyzed/etc..) Not mentioning the tarot nerfs which I think personally were not needed, especially the touch border for catacombs, anyone can just reflex to do that if a tarot user ever tries to use the card, let alone just keeping them webbed/paralyzed/off eq or whatnot.

But worst of all (in my opinion at least) is wisp no longer being affected by monolith, it was bad enough before being unable to walk in a forestal demesne without having a monolith on the ground after or before every step or else you will be wisped, but now there is no defense at all? As geb and others pointed out, the balance for wisp was supposed to be the monolith, that there was a way to stop it, since all it needs is for any wiccan with wisp to be in the demesne, as opposed to only the mage that has the demesne melded being able to do it, and if they're taken out thats it for summon and demesne effects, now it is simply insane, might as well accept that you will never not be in the room of the wispers if you ever step inside a forestal demesne.

What really is the reasoning behind all these most recent changes?

unsure.gif October Fool's Day?

I must agree, these changes don't seem to be on par in effectiveness with changes made in the past.

EDIT: And I've been ninja'd... sorta.
Daevos2005-10-22 04:59:30
Well, I personally like most of the changes except for a few. Such as the wisp upgrade to bypass monolith and wisp/flow working in either environments, as I said before. Decided to be optimistic on the wisp thing though, since I hope that they are planning to offer another defense against it as well as demense summon. Guess it's because I can't really comprehend wisp being considered balanced in it's current form by anyone.
Munsia2005-10-22 05:00:58
I had fun with the new wisp changes biggrin.gif

Wisp has... I think one more change coming to it will should make it more obvious why the monolith was taken away as a defence.
Unknown2005-10-22 05:04:15
Do flow & nature have some more changes coming?
Munsia2005-10-22 05:04:26
Uhg they are totally nerfing wisp too then

Is it going to work on a delay and fail if we cudgel the poor fae to death before the delay ends? I'd sure appreciate that.

Then everyone will be vulnerable to farcure/wisp tactics.
