Back to Common Grounds.

If blindness stops wisp, then wisp will have become uber nerfed like flow...
Munsia2005-10-22 05:29:10
non stop nerf of the nature users
Xenthos2005-10-22 05:30:38
Well, we all observed how powerful Glomdoring and Serenwilde were becoming.

I don't understand why it was changed to local area...

Didn't EVERYONE (except Thorgal) that used the skill want it back to pure to pure if you're Seren and infested to infested if you're Glom?

It wasn't about what we wanted (unless -we- means Mags)

The admins are doing what they are for balance reasons. But yes, the communes just got a huge hit as the change to spores and flow will make us completely change our styles.

Definately, we going to have to start using ghostdom, lichdom, etc... now that we cannot escape easily...

I rather liked the new flow change, but not the new wisp-through-mono change. Unless like whoever said, we can bludgeon the wisp to death before it jerks us along. Or blindness... mm... but that means I'll have to actually start using sixth sense...
Ixion2005-10-22 06:24:34
I'd just like wisp to be disabled while the changes are being put in so that people cant abuse it's ridiculous overpoweredness in the interim.

I love you. You are pleased with the downgrades to a class that isn't you... and you don't care for any minor upgrades they received. Classic. Absolutely classic.

I don't think you can call wisp-through-mono minor...
Viravain2005-10-22 06:33:14
The changes to wisp should be finished soon, and they will make it clear as to why Wisp can now go through monoliths. I don't believe they should be going through shields, but I'm hardly as certain about that.

Wisp has always went through shield.

it was you who was using sap against a group of serens wasn't it? if it is bugged perhaps that should be removed untill its fixed? (by the way i just heard complaints so i don't know for sure)

also a.t.m getting around seren and to it's villages isn't that hard with the rifts we have setup and i wouldn't think this would make it too much harder to get around just longer especially as all the areas linked to by rift ('cept one i know of) are forested so it would be a matter of finding the local rift transverse move transverse, unless i'm missing something (probably am)
Gregori2005-10-22 06:44:05

Now that I'm a little calmer, I'd like to reaffirm that these changes need to be undone for the sake of balance.

Both flow and wisp.

I think most players of Serenwilde and Glomdoring are agreed that this in no way will equate the ability of city organizations or commune organizations to defend. Some players of Magnagora are happy to see our advantage taken away, and that is their opinion, but we are very much disadvantaged now in terms of defence.

Add to that the damage that is done to both communes, especially Glomdoring, by making forest a hindrance to survival.

I realize there may have been some sort of hope in this that Magnagoran players who were unhappy would be appeased, but it is going to cause far more trouble than the original flow ever could have.

I don't quite love you, but awkay.

Flow was inherently powerful, it could be used plane-wide to flow whole armies in, and flow whole armies out, with few restrictions, and no significant cost. You did it yourself in the catacombs. Druid forest, everyone flow in, after a while, once we've managed to mass a sufficient amount of people, which takes more time since you've distorted our rift, the whole army flows out to some target waiting in a safe spot in Eth Seren.

Wisp through mono is NOT minor. If it really is, please do explain to me how it doesn't really make a humongous impact, because in that case, I'd have missed how removing our only real viable, though still not foolproof, defense to wisp is minor. True, demesne summon goes through monoliths, but demesne summon also requires MELDED territory, costs 3p as opposed to 1p, and can only be done by the mage melded to the demesne. Wisp costs 1p, can be done by any moondancer with wisp, and doesn't require the druid to meld anything at all.

Jadryga,

You will note that earlier in this thread I suggested that flow not bring entourages to fix that problem. This knee jerk solution is truly no better.

bleh, i can't remember it was... thursday night in australia i think after the full moon and we had a coven sitting at the archway of thorns, someone said to one of the people who attacked us that they shouldn't be using sap. (i have a lame memory, perhaps i should go get an upgrade)

Much preferable would be to let facts and experience guide your opinions, rather than letting opinions dictate what you claim to be a fact.
Unknown2005-10-22 06:54:04
The change that means tarot-users have to be alone to use either catacombs or hermit is also going to disappoint many, I bet.

It's just not as devastating to organizational defence as the flow/wisp changes are.

What is the difference between one person flowing and bringing an entourage, and a big bunch of people flowing at once to one target, besides perhaps an extra second or two to synchronise?
