Back to Common Grounds.

I would like to see flow readjusted so the intended penalities to combatants do not negativly effect our novices and pacificsts. A scaling mana cost or something like that would work fine.
Thorgal2005-10-22 10:45:57
If Flow weren't a novice skill in a primary skillset obtainable with a handful of lessons by two of the three guilds, it'd be an unfair downgrade..

Obviously the commune's traveling abilities were far too powerful, the only thing comparable the cities had was Catacombs, which is a fabled skill in a tertiary skillset, obtainable by one of the three guilds, IF they didn't pick hexes or astrology.

Hence, Flow just cannot be compared to catacombs, about 1% of the time we got raided we had a nihilist with catacombs around to fling one, i.e. never, we always had to walk, since our pantings were continuously destroyed as well. There are a 300 times more people with Flow than there are with Catacombs..

Also, 100% of the Serenwilde population has SPRINT, which has no time recovery limit, all of you can basically instantly rush from Serenwilde to any village, provided you know your way, which doesn't cost anything.

Flow was retarded, they either had to change Via to work like Flow.. or nerf Flow like they did. I can't believe you people honostly think Flow is fine as it was, it was a simply stupidly powerful ability, especially because it was available to literally every moondancer and every hartstone, without them even having to make a choice in spending lessons.

Flow has extremely spoiled you, just take a step back, finally get to know your way around, and use sprint, which will take you to any village instantly, from which you can still instantly flow your army to the raiders, this change to Flow will cost you no more than a few seconds more time to reach a village.

And the argument that you can no longer forest a random place to Flow back to Serenwilde is stupid as well, since you can just 'teleport nexus', which doesn't even cost any power, unlike foresting.

With the knowledge there'll be more changes to Wisp, I fully agree with the traveling changes so far..

Yes, because no one has suggested downgrades that don't completely neuter the skill? Oh, wait, they have, I'm just not blind and/or illiterate.

Honestly, Flow was extremely strong on defense, but it's main purpose was simply to move around. There are a LOT more people affected by this then just the big name fighters people care about.

Flow needed this, I think. I can learn to live with it. But Nature is screwed now. Of course, you won't admit that, because having Rituals/Elementalism be so much better is in your favor.
Thorgal2005-10-22 10:55:05
And just just like Nature, Rituals is a primary skillset right? Compare Rituals to Totems, Elementalism and Cosmic to Nature. Maybe Elementalism is better than Nature, but Cosmic certainly isn't, and Totems is far better than Rituals. So far Totems got one upgrade after another, while Rituals got one downgrade after another.

Considering the primary skillsets below Master like Nature, you've absolutely nothing to complain about. Totems is an immensely useful and powerful skillset, and 100% of the Serenwilde population has access to it. Drop the rediculous argument about Nature being worthless, you can't have the best of everything, Totems is still the best skillset in its rank of Lusternia.

For novices, aye.
Thorgal2005-10-22 10:59:02
No.. Totems is the best base secondary skillset of Lusternia, for anyone. It's far better than Cosmic or Rituals.

Actually I think base hunting is extremely usefull, even more so for novices.

My suspicion about Wisp.

Wisp will become like beckon in that you will need to actually walk to the area. I think it's supposed to be a will-o'-wisp beguiling somebody and making them walk somewhere, not a teleportation power. Thus it can be blocked by doors, icewalls, etc.

Of course, I could be wrong, but I was just suspecting that.
Unknown2005-10-22 11:02:38
Um, in your opinion, Thorgal.
Ashteru2005-10-22 11:04:13
I think it's between Totems/Rituals/Hunting, really.

I mean
Rituals: Ways to heal yourself

Totems: Several usefull abilities like sprinting, climbing and such, and several regeneration abilities

Hunting: Several abilties to do commodity quests in villages, pretty good to earn money, I think.

Hajamin, you could always explain the downgrade now, and we can get all the complaints out of our system before it actually goes in... halo.gif

Yeah, in my opinion, every single of all our posts is nothing but our opinion. Do you think your posts are more than merely your opinion?

I've had elementalism, cosmic, rituals, hunting and totems.. totems is by far the most useful skillset, be it for novices, omnitrans combatants, questers, or bashers. You've absolutely nothing to complain about considering Nature, at all.

In my opinion.

having had totems, hunting and rituals, I would say easily totems is the most useful. We get fluidswim, treeclimbing burrowing, LEAP, a free point of str, mana/ego regen in day/night, immunity to fear, which I never realized how awesome that could be until I no longer had it, SCENT, all kinds of killer stuff. So we dont get puer or chant, those are the only two skills in rituals that we cant get in the serenwilde, we have a puella equivalent with waxing. Overall Im slightly empathetic for those with flow, it sucks you have to walk now, but we can get over it. Serenguard have been doing it for years XD

Actually better then fluidswim, unless it was changed recently which I don't believe I have read any announces saying so, you have waterbreathe, trout can breathe underwater whereas fluidswim can't, and clinging in addition to just treeclimbing with monkey even though its not specifically mentioned in the ab file

I most certainly agree wit thorgal on every point raised.

As a totems, ex rituals and i used to have cosmic ages ago, I can say that totems SHITS all over rituals in just about every way.

Seeing a trend?

Mag players- Yay, great change. Good job admin.

Seren players- Omg. What the hell? This is horrible, please change it back.

Glomdoring players- See above.

Celestian players- Indifferent.

'cause there are none. Celest is just a city of Guards and Denizens, and all of the Leadership is dead. Shamarah is the last inhabitant, posting the stuffed explayers at strategical places and putting up Magicmouthes. ninja.gif He's the Puppetmaster

Actually, all the other citizens are robots. FORWARD, MY ROBOT ARMY, AND CONQUER THE BASIN WITH YOUR WEAPONS NIGH UNSTOPPABLE!
