It's not a question of joining, it's a question of defeating ones lazyness long enough to actually write one...

Stop hijacking.
Anyway, I just hope that the new change to wisp is coming out soon. I stupidly tried earlier to drop a monolith to stop wisp, only to realize after someone got wisped away that it doesn't stop it anymore.

Wisp goes through Monolith now??? ... I should pay more attention...

Serenwilde has a few urban rooms... In the Serengaurd/Moondancer guild areas, which are just not places we can put paintings.
Someone suggested Ecological pathways to the villages. but all of the villages are Urban and you can't make a pathway from Urban-to-forest I'm told.
In the last few raids our rifts were blocked, seeing as they are the only fast way to get there.
The only 'fast' method we have to get there is to have someone sprint in, get bumped around by cows, about 30 seconds later get there, and have everyone else teleport in. Defencive reaction time is down to like a minute there. So ya, this is a -huge- change for us, and people should stop trying to prove it isn't.

Perhaps they're not trying so much to prove it isn't, as to say "Look, we've dealt without instant transportation, you can too."
Because honestly, it IS a big change. I doubt anyone is refuting that, or at least, I can't remember anyone who has.
But it's not the end of the world.
... or well, nature.
The other argument was that Nature is useless without flow. Someone else said that well, this is an opportunity to request for better skills to balance out the skillset, because if Nature was one whole crappy skillset with only one skill that was SO awesome it made up for the rest of the skillset, I'd say that skillset wasn't really that balanced, heh. It also proved that Flow was really THAT powerful.

I sure as hell would. I can get 8,000 mana. If I can't poof out, I need the ability to tank. I mean, I do basically have to fight toe-to-toe like a warrior now.
Jadryga2005-10-24 09:21:44
As a mid-level loboshi, it's risky, and not that worth it.

surging would give me just 1k more, which would be worth it, if it didn't leave me with 1k+ mana

Right. It doesn't work for you. It does, however, far better for lots of other people.
Anyhoo, my point was simply that the trend with Guardians/Wiccans was in the past their ability to quickly remove themselves from harm's way. Druids and Mages have demesnes they can fall back into. Warriors can tank the most damage and get the most health... Guardians/Wiccans have to more-or-less start tanking damage because of their lack of ability to run... but do so without the perks that say warriors have when expected to do the same.

Narsrim has a good point. A wiccan's only real useful and powerful niche now are our offensive Covens, which are very limited by time of day and moon phases.
Unknown2005-10-24 11:44:42
Well, I would think the Wiccan/Guardian 'niche' is in their entourages, as it has always been.
I do agree that Wiccan/Druid disadvantages in stamina and offensive might were balanced by their ease of escape, especially in the forests. That no longer seems to be the case, or at least it has been reduced to a level equal to that of every other class.

To use Jadryga's argument in another way: Perhaps it's a sign that Druids/Wiccans aren't balanced enough, especialy when one skill, Flow, completely nerfs them.
As such, the solution might be to look to see how they can better compete. I know Druids demesnes have been viewed as very easy to get around, which seems odd given that the main idea of a Druid/Mage seems to be territory takeover.

Ashteru2005-10-24 13:00:08
Well, Druids/Mages can demesne return. Since I only see a need to escape if they are fighting somewhere, I'd say that's still pretty good if the Druid doesn't forget to not stand in his demesne center when the fight starts. And Wiccans/Guardians can fly, not many people can do that.
Unknown2005-10-24 13:06:41
I'm fairly sure demesne return is not something you could use to escape combat. Well, no more than teleport, anyway.
Edit: Unless you mean they are fighting in their demesne. *cough*

Acrune2005-10-24 13:11:04
Center is good for escaping if you're in your demesne. I've used it before to escape out of my demesne, but that can get a little tricky.

Well, flow only worked in Forests too, so I'd assume it's at least demesned if you fight somewhere with forests.
And yep, out of demesne it's tricky to pull off...only ever did it once in a real combat situation.

I'm really curious to see how the next village influencing session will go, if both Glomdoring and Serenwilde get involved.
With flow/wisp working in enemy demesnes, it could be interesting.
