Well, I guess, you know, those city folk don't have SPIRITBOND HORSE, so they need SOME way of getting over those walls and locked doors.

tumble? burrow? fly? roll? and leap doesn't go over locked doors.
Xavius2005-10-25 04:14:49
...so, yeah, should we tell Xenthos that it's a fake?
Gregori2005-10-25 04:16:00
To be honest I would love it if Teleport Nexus had a longer delay. Stupid people stirring up trouble and then using teleport nexus to excape.

If it's fake, Xavius will meet a very pointy and bloody end. ninja.gif

Don't hurt Xavius. Hurt Telira. It was her idea.

Can't hit proteges unless they demand I spar them. So no, it's all on Xavius' shoulders. Or not, if I take his head.

Hmm...then I blame Munsia. Go take care of that evil woman!

Murphy2005-10-25 04:29:55
agree with gregori, teleport nexus should be a 20 second cast!
Sylphas2005-10-25 07:22:24
If you honestly can't stop them teleporting nexus now, what makes you think you can if it takes longer? A freaking druid could kill me in the time it takes now.
Unknown2005-10-25 07:48:16
Teleport nexus is already long enough, and just about anything stops it, so unless you turn all your triggers off, invoke a circle and just wait to either die or teleport, it's worthless in a fight

Oh, and: fake envoy reporters must be slain on sight!

QUOTE(Avaer @ Oct 25 2005, 12:45 AM)
I don't really understand what you mean here. Wiccans and guardians are the only ones with highly dangerous entourages (at least, I don't think hounds do terribly much). Demesnes can often be lost easier than killing an entourage.
211699

Then let's consider my demon too.

One affliction every 8 seconds.
Two afflictions for the 5 rounds if the demon is scourged (which costs 10 power and if I want to keep him scourged through the fight, I basically have no power for anything else).

It's worth to note that attacks are random. If I invest many powers, I can't predict what will he hit with. If I invest two, like anorexia and stupidity, I still have no guarantee that it'll hit with both since it quite often happens that he hits with the same thing twice.

The best part would be that the afflictions are masked. Each pact gives 5 powers, so each attack message can be one of 5 afflictions. But that's theory. If you know the pacts and you're not too greedy, you can just eat, drink, smoke at once and cure everything. Hell, one of the messages you can trigger to eat pennyroyal since all afflictions are cured by it. Also, half of them are not worth it so you can predict what's being used on you.

Strong points would be shackles - passive web. But how could we not have it when wrack, on top of mana requirement, needs to have the target bound, as well as torture. It's already hard because of tipheret and on small races. Then there's dominate. Except that it's stopped by deafness and we have no way of stripping it (that I know of at least).

QUOTE(Avaer @ Oct 25 2005, 12:45 AM)
I'm not experienced enough to know about your position in group combat, but couldn't it involve heavy afflicting and nice instakills?
211699

Heavy afflicting, I don't think so. Passive web is good I imagine, but that's one target every 8 seconds. We have no nice instakills. If you mean crucify/trample/sacrifice group combo, no Nihilist is required since it's Necromancy.

Geomancer demesne gives me a lot of more trouble than nihilist demon, even scourged. Not to mention geomancers have better active attacks and a lot, lot easier instakills.

Sorry for the hijack, but there are no real announces anyway... nyah.gif

Nope, I've gotten away with it. Admittedly I had a small head start in teleporting, and the two attackers wasted their time with icewalls, phantom, tainting the ground, void, and webbing, and a blast or two, and by the time they got done with all that, I was at the pool. laugh.gif
Narsrim2005-10-25 15:26:57
Actually, Hexes can strip deafness with Sensitivity. Furthermore, I thought someone said deafness wasn't blocking dominate if you had sixth sense now. It was only blocking dominate if you were deaf (not blind) and thus no sixth sense.

Hmm, I am not too sure about it, but when I tried to dominate Erageon for fun, I couldn't because he was deaf. And while that, he was listening to and answering while we talked in my manse. So either he had sixth sense up or I am completely missremembering something.
Unknown2005-10-26 16:23:57
Well, I was wondering when it would happen.

Gee, fighting as a Druid is just -so- much fun now.

QUOTE

You kneel down and touch your forehead to the earth, then whisper the names of
power and binding. A deep emerald glow ripples across the ground and you become
one with the land.

In the trees above A flip-flopped fountain.
Superimposed over this location, an ethereal forest reaches up to the sky. A
fountain splashes across the road, the base sitting on a wall to the northwest.
The glazed blue tile comprising the wall creates an almost cloud-like
atmosphere while the jets shoot southeast across the road and fall back into
the fountain. Everything else seems to be situated as normal as possible, the
trees growing upwards and the occasional passerby walking perpendicular to the
ground. Despite this the fountain happily continues gurgling and shooting
streams of water sideways before they splash back into the bowl.
You see exits leading north, southeast, and west.
2921h, 4376m, 5178e, 10p, 12175en, 16435w xk-<14:703>
You have recovered equilibrium.
2921h, 4426m, 5178e, 10p, 12180en, 16459w exk-<19:703>
You carefully watch your footing and shimmy down from the treetops.

2921h, 4426m, 5178e, 10p, 12158en, 16483w exk-<20:312>
You press your hand upon the forest floor and sing a small word of creation.
Slowly, a hornbeam sapling pushes upwards out of the soil and sways gently
towards you.
2921h, 4076m, 5178e, 10p, 12158en, 16448w xk-<22:328>
You have recovered equilibrium.
2921h, 4076m, 5178e, 10p, 12178en, 16472w exk-<25:703>
You scent at the air, your skilled nose picking up the faint traces of others
in the surrounding area.
You make out the scent of Borca coming from glassy webs of silk.
You make out the scent of Moralis coming from earthen grumblings.
You make out the scent of Luthe coming from earthen grumblings.
You make out the scent of Eiru coming from glassy webs of silk.
You make out the scent of Emar coming from earthen grumblings.
You make out the scent of Diamante coming from icy feeding grounds.
2921h, 4076m, 5178e, 10p, 12168en, 16472w exk-<27:156>
You hear the sound of tinkling silver bells and see a ball of light bobbing in
the air. As the ball of light floats away, you are compelled to chase after it,
and the forest seems to blur around you.

Glassy webs of silk.
Superimposed over this location, an ethereal forest reaches up to the sky.
Silken webs of glass are spun from tree to tree in this area, the resulting
kaleidoscope of colours throwing prisms of rainbow hued light everywhere. The
dizzying display of tints sets various trees afire with vividly coloured auras.
The conflagration seems to flicker as if flame, the glass webs shaking in the
slightest breeze. A melodious burst of notes emanates from the strands
themselves as they brush against each other, the song being that of pure light
given voice. A birch sapling clings tenaciously to the ground here. There are 4
corpses of a stainless steel goat here. The corpse of Lanikai the Sea Hag is
slowly breaking apart into clumps of seaweed. Padding obediently beside its
master, a barghest sniffs the air here. A brownie sits morosely here, bound by
dark shadows. A sylph sits morosely here, bound by dark shadows. A pigwidgeon
sits morosely here, bound by dark shadows. A sprite sits morosely here, bound
by dark shadows. A pixie sits morosely here, bound by dark shadows. A nymph
sits morosely here, bound by dark shadows. A short redcap stands here, looking
around for victims. A banshee sits morosely here, bound by dark shadows.
Casting her arrogant gaze about the area, a slaugh stands here imperiously. A
pooka sits morosely here, bound by dark shadows. Stonecold Borca, Lord of the
Taint is here, shrouded. He wields a dwarven klangaxe in his left hand. Eiru is
here, giving off a truly ghastly stench. He wields a glowing powerstone in his
left hand.
You see exits leading north, east, south, and west.
2921h, 4297m, 5178e, 10p, 12180en, 16496w exk-<28:812>
Borca spits in his hands and firmly grips his axe. With a great swing of the
axe, Borca whacks into the trunk of a birch sapling.
A birch sapling sways back and forth, then crashes to the ground.
2921h, 4297m, 5178e, 10p, 12180en, 16496w exk-<29:156>
There is no exit in that direction.
2921h, 4297m, 5178e, 10p, 12180en, 16496w exk-<30:890>
Eiru points a skull-shaped crown at you, and sparks fly out of it.
Sticky strands of webbing spray out to cover you.

Daevos2005-10-26 16:31:59
But but, aren't there so many ways to block wisp?
Unknown2005-10-26 16:33:36
Nope, there are none.

Flow and wisp need to be fixed. It's just ridiculous.

Agreed, or they need to hurry a little and have Wisp be delayed and stopped by shield. That'd be the only way I can see to counterbalance ignoring monoliths.
Unknown2005-10-26 17:09:10
It needs to be reworked so Druid demesnes are not liabilities.

I'm hoping there is some upcoming change that will achieve that goal.
