Magical Travel: Last Envoy Review

by Estarra

Back to Common Grounds.

Phew, worried me a sec. The AB file should be changed, because I've never heard of anyone using it on themselves with good result. Or many people using it at all, for that matter. doh.gif

Flow Slip to the location of another standing in the forests.
Guard Protect plants from harm.
Rain Open the skies and deluge the earth.
Gate Open gates to the ethereal realm.
Master Move on to a master specialization.
AB NATURE for more information on an ability.

Bump it up to where? It is already one of the last skills in Nature.

Druidry is far more in tune with Nature than Nature is. Druidry is the mastery of Nature.

On a different note, is there in fact any point to this skill existing? It may as well either not, or have a new function, 'cause I can't see anything it does that a skill less than the amount of lessons it takes to get rift (basic skill) in planar doesn't do already apart from look pretty...huh.gif

That skill should let you open Rifts. *eyeshift*

I also agree Via should be upgraded. It is seriously limited in where it can work. Make it Urban environments, canceled by enemy territory.

Flow should be moved to Druidry only.

That's exactly what I've been meaning to say, and moving Flow to druidry while having it lose entourage instead of downgrading its execution restrictions, is a much better solution than mine, this would fix the balance issue splendidly.
Acrune2005-10-05 13:06:17
Would you be able to go through your nexus without gate? I thought the planar let you use player made rifts for planar travel, and the elementalism, cosmic (I think) and the gate you just quoted all let you travel through the nexus to the planes.

I have placed bubble in the project about combat as a viable tactic to use on a target. I explicitly state that an aquamancer should never cast bubble on himself.

NOOOO DON'T MOVE IT TO BLOODY DRUIDRY.

Take it out of nature, and -then- put it into Druidry, and also put it in as a Night or Moon ability <-- Doesn't have to have the same name as the one in Druidry.

EDIT: And stfu about Moondancers, Shadowdancers would be SCREWED OVER. We have nothing like moonbeam to move us around.

Eh, player ents, and only if moonbeam is made world-wide, so that Dancers have SOME method of moving.

You have gained the following abilities in Planar:

Shortwave
EtherGate          See and enter any gateway to the ethereal plane.

You have gained the following abilities in Nature:

Talisman
Rooting

Faeriefire
Vines

Flow
Guard
Rain
Gate                Open gates to the ethereal realm.

I agree with Shiri, on this one. Gate is a nice skill when you don't think about it, but after taking a closer examination you have to ask yourself... why?

Hmmm. No, I'm pretty sure that's not true, because I've transversed before I got gate (it's at like high level adept.) What it does in the case of Celestines/Aquas is let you skip planes. Obviously that's not relevant in the case of the Ethereal, and neither Commune Nexus extends to a plane more than one...plane away from the Prime, so it doesn't actually matter.

Because it's in Cosmic and Elemental like that, too - it's just a aesthetic balance. If it bothers you, ignore it.

Shadowdancers would get a moonbeam'esce ability as well, to cover their loss of Flow.

Yup, saw that, was good to know I wasn't the only one who was wondering why'd you'd cast it on yourself. Maybe it'd be good for distracting your enemies if the bubble popped and the message showed a random mobile falling out, if that bug is still around. tongue.gif
Ashteru2005-10-05 13:12:08
Or if it would make three bubbles who randomly drift into different directions. ninja.gif

This isn't a time for jokes man, the ranting or funnies forum is better suited for that.
Shiri2005-10-05 13:15:09
Continent wide, but not into enemy territory! (Or from enemy territory into enemy territory.)

And yes, we'll be envoying that if flow gets moved to Druidry. angry.gif

Nerf it if necessary (I agree it needs changing), but not like THAT.
Ashteru2005-10-05 13:17:13
That would probably mean that every Serenguard takes moon then.
The only Serenguard I'd see choosing Stag are the ones for RP. And Malicia. I don't think she'll EVER drop Stag, from what I read.

And that I want such an ability too. Geomancers and Aquamancers would be the only ones left without ANY such cool abilties.
Thorgal2005-10-05 16:27:41
Oh, and Amaru mentioned that using the champion rescue ability should allow the entourage to follow.

I think not... you are replacing your body with theirs, not moving in a way that anyone or anything can follow.
