Ok, this is coming from a guy who has only spent about 12 hours in Lusternia. Is there a mage-ish magic caster class that doesn't rely on demenses. From some posts I see aquamancers and druids simply sitting in a demense and waiting for people to wander by. I chose a serenguard 'cause he can wander around and isn't hampered by such things, but am still interested in a magical class because it sounds like fun.

Guardians I guess. Cities only.

You get a thrall with investable powers from the pacts (either demon or angel), necromancy or sacraments, and get to choose between tarot/hexes/astrology for Nihilists or tarot/healing/astrology for Celestines.

No demesne, and it is a caster class.

Warriors are the most self-sufficient class though, in case of guardians you still have to watch out for your thrall.

A Serenguard with Drawdown, if you pick a race with decent int, can be kinda casterish and fun.
Unknown2005-10-04 03:12:52
Yeah, well right now I am an orclach, so scratch the decent int and Drawdown. I can still change it cause of the free reincarnation, but I can't see what other class would be both strong and intelligent without stupidly bad racial disadvantages apart from an elfen high lord (or whatever) mostly because they have no disadvantages tongue.gif. Besides, orclach isn't a bad class cause I want to go pureblade, but the fire weakness and equilibrium recovery suck.

Become an elfen, Become an Elfen lord. You will have good str, good con, and good int, and no weaknesses, that is the smartest choice if you a serenguard, especially if you chose moon.
Unknown2005-10-04 03:33:08
Well...there just seems like a lot of Elfen around, I kinda want to be different, but the disadvantages do show for the orclach. Since I can change races at anytime I will probably level up with the orc because he can take the punishment (health regen. and damage resistances) then switch to elfen whenever I can switch straight to elfen lord. It still will feel wierd with less health, more damage taken, and no pureblade bonus.

There's just as many orclach as elfen, really. I'm shocked that more people aren't elfen, to be frank, but there ya go. The majority of people in warrior guilds are races like orclach, aslaran, loboshigaru, igasho, tae'dae and taurian.

There is only one solution to this: make an alt after my warrior makes it out of novicehood and see which one I enjoy the most.

And on a different note to all of the demense people out there, how much fun is it to be...a demense person. Are you stuck to one place really for combat, and how does that make gameplay?
Shryke2005-10-05 05:16:59
I had a druid, it wasn't that bad... I mean with regrowth you can demesne pretty fast... but people can just run from your 1 room...
I eventually went warrior because I was tired of the having to demesne.. So I say it's not that bad.. but I left because of it... I guess it's just depending on your preference...

What about wiccans, do they have a demense? I would prefer to stay in Seren becuase it seems like a nice place. How is the atmosphere of Celest, though, in case I decide to make a guardian?

Wiccans have like 10 ents that follow them around. (There are a couple more, but I don't use pigwidgeon and leprechaun much. Too easy to lose and like a 1p, unreliable acquisitio respectively.) So you're not -entirely- self reliant, as said ents can be killed with a good crit and also it's pretty easy to lose them (treebane, tumble, leap etc., and then you have to use eq to get them all back in the room) but you're much more mobile than a mage/druid.

Wiccans are like Pokemon trainers. cool.gif
Shiri2005-10-05 13:24:04
By Wiccans he means Nihilists, of course.

Spawn, I choose you!

Dude, nobody chooses Spawn.
Shiri2005-10-05 13:51:52
It's like the pokemon you only use to make fun of sucky people.
Ashteru2005-10-05 13:53:12
I always thought and said Nokraemon when I meant Nokraenom.

Yea, I know our skills suck and need upgrades, but they're not pokemon. 'cause we have 10 at a time. You guys only have the one. owned.gif

EDIT: Plus your former GC is a Pikachu.
Unknown2005-10-05 14:34:48
Meh, a misunderstanding. I thought you mean we can make fun of newbs with spawn (really, that's still the only use I can see for this skill).

Anyway, this argument is silly. How can you say a hideous archdemon thrall is a pokemon. Look at your own bunch of little critters. I guess you just can't face it.

And oh well, at least we don't fly on brooms and turn people into toads.

You calling Eiru Pikachu doesn't make him one. tongue.gif
