Trying to make them understand that I am the Guildmistress. Not the Guild Adminstrator.

And the infamous GHELP/CHELP NOHARDQUESTIONS came to mind. And inspired...

Administration is the realm of the Guild Administrator. Administration
includes the following:

- Nests, especially questions concerning Nest requirements or changes
- undersecretaries
- archivists
- GHELP scrolls
- anything that would normally fall under the heading of ADMINISTRATION.

These questions should be directed to Sobran.


The Eye of Crow (me) is responsible for matters concerning guild
relations, and just about anything to do with the commune. For example:

- secretaries
- security
- guild credits
- problems with commune mates
- anything generally to do with the COMMUNE or LEADERSHIP

In other words....


Administration is not my job.

Anyone else have problems making people understand their job?

No. I seem to get along with my Geos pretty well. At least from my perspective. No clue what they think about me.

Where I work, do you know what we do to people who say 'X is not my job?'

You only hear them say it twice.

They ask me the same questions, over and over, about the same things that I have NOTHING to do with.

Seriously, Bau has a lot of work to do most of the time, and the SAME people from the guild keep asking her about the SAME things and she KEEPS saying that she DOESN'T KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT IT, and they KEEP ASKING HER.

I'm sick of it. I truly am. THAT is what inspired this.

You can say it's me shirking or whatever, but it's me being sick of people not listening. You can only say the same thing over and over before you snap and outguild them for asking.

Then perhaps instead of not knowing you should finding whats going on in the guild.

Regardless, they should not be asking me. They should be asking their Nest heads, and you know it.

Even if you arent GA you should still have some sort of inkling as to whats all going on and be able to answer questions.

That's what bothers me.. People go to Vesar instead of me over the things that I actually have stuff to do with.

I need to make a scroll like that saying what the guildmaster does and what I do.. it might clear up a lot of stuff.

*grin* Ok, so I was exaggerating. I do know some of the stuff they ask me. But when the same person comes to me with the same questions *coughRowencough* over and over, when I've repeatedly told him to talk to other people about it, I'm gonna be ANNOYED.

We have GA's for a reason. Ours is around quite often. I DO have other work to do, and they KNOW I do because they'll see me running around all month and still ask me questions that have NOTHING to do with what I'm meant to be doing. They KNOW they're meant to talk to Nest Heads, that's why we HAVE them.

You know, this thread seriously doesn't shed good light on your character's leading abilities and motivations. I have to agree with Xavius here.

On paper, your only job would consist of "representing your guild in the Shadow Court." But that's going off a little easy don't you think?

Doesn't it? At some point, you have to simply say, "Hey, go ask so-and-so, that's he's there for." We have secretaries and such for a reason. And Admin, especially, is ranked the same as GM. Why people go to the GM instead, I don't know.

It's sort of like asking the Supreme Court questions about what's going on in Congress. Yeah, they might know, but it's not their job to legislate, so why do it?

Have you checked the Blacktalon lately Sylphas? Often Bau is the only authority around, if she tells them to wait till someone else comes in because it's not her job, that's not going to leave a very good impression.

That's not Bau's problem with leadership, so much as needing a more active GA, then.

If it's a question about something, yeah, she should probably know about. If it's asking to do something, permission for something, etc, etc, then it should be put to the GA.

It's not Sobran's fault he, gasp, has a life. So he can't be here 24/7. Bau is the GM, she is part of the administration, and she should take an active role in administrating the Guild.

Um, no. If it were her job to administer the guild, we wouldn't have GA. Read the second half of my post again. Message Sobran, have him get back to you. If you can't be on at least once a day, you probably can't handle a leadership position.

And that, is why both the Blacktalon and the Hartstone suck so much. Though I'm not sure how Hartstone really looks since Elryn became guildmaster. Regardless, all glomdorians I talk to seem to agree that the Blacktalon is just a disaster.

We suck because I actually think GA and GM are different? Wtf are you smoking Thorgal? If they're going to do the same things, then Champions should as well, and they should all get the same powers.
