You think 2 hours are much?!
Enchant 57 scrolls, I dare you! My eyes started to bleed yesterday, and I only did 19 of that offer!

I enchanted 18 scrolls, 30 pocketbelts, 2 decks, one necklace, two bracelets, one brooch, two rings, a set of greatrobes.... I think that was it. I forget.
Ashteru2005-10-05 11:19:51
57 scrolls a 50 charges...that's a LONG time of just sitting there.

I dont know if anyone's said this, but Artisan is probably one of the worst skills, you need high skills in it, because no one buys any furniture unless it does something good. You hardly really get any people buying because the furniture is too damn expensive, you need to waste quite a bit of gold on comms and the only real gold winning jobs you'll get are from thrones because they give +2 charisma but they're the skill before trans.
All in all, dont pick Artisan.

Yep. Artisan's probably worse than bookbinding IMO.

Yeah, sorry for ressurecting an old topic. Forging seems like the way to go, but I still wince at the amount of money I shell out to stock up on herbs. I wish that forgers could forge more things than simply weapons and armour (don't ask me what, though). What Cwin said actually got me to think about what type of person I wanted to be, and of all the skills, forging keeps a warrior one dimensional in one sense; he is either fighting or preparing to fight.
What I would like to do with forging is to be able to supply weapons and armour to the novices of the guild, and perhaps one day start my own shop filled with all sorts of deadly goodies.

Bah, I took Bookbinding for RP reasons and I'll stand behind it.

Hear hear!
I'm never going to come close to recouping everything I invest in tailoring, but it was without a doubt the right choice for me.
Lusternia's economy is improving, but still very buggy in terms of being able to make a living from your tradeskill instead of from bashing/questing. If you want a steady income, go for herbs or alchemy. For anything else, take it because it's the skill you fancy.
Unknown2005-10-12 05:47:09
Well, that trend seems to have been set by the previous IRE games. I remeber in Achaea the forgers did the work for free, too. Yeah, its money verus what I fits best for my character. I guess what fits best will work because *hopefully* something will change with the economy. Hey, this sounds like my reasons for picking pureblade as well.

I picked Pureblade because shields are for pansies. 204224

But like no one uses shields, BoneCrusher and BladeMaster both use two weapons instead of one and a Shield, i'd really love to see knighthood spec using a shield and sword or something.
Ialie2005-10-12 08:47:29
I will probably always be a jeweler, no matter how exciting something else sounds... although I still believe that it would be nice to have a second tradeskill.

And I still think it would be disastrous, even though I had the two in Achaea myself.

Or better yet, bring on Shielddance, Bladedance and Wardance (a la Imperian).

If I recall correctly, there are some interesting shield abilites with Combat, so a weapon/shield is a viable option. 204259
Unknown2005-10-14 07:42:41
No they're not viable because they take the whole balance i believe, so it negates the ability to actually do anything in a combination with a shield, and since single handed weapons do basically no damage, by themselves, a shield and one handed weapon combination would be worse then having a mage use their staff to jab people to death.
Unknown2005-10-14 20:35:01
Shieldstun takes arm balance.
And that's the only attack you can do with a shield that I know of.

Which is why we need a lance/shield skillset.

Only problem is you'd do enough damage for even a mage to be able to tank.

Yeah, but if your shieldstun is relatively long then they're not going to be curing a hell of a lot quickly, are they?
Has anyone graphed shieldstun times against target size and source size/con?
Unknown2005-10-15 13:46:40
It's str based as far as I know, but maybe size counts too. There were probably some changes so I'm not sure about that.
Long time ago Gruhk as an Aslaran Titan with truefavour (don't know about the weapons though) could -almost- stunlock me while hitting with weapon in another arm. I had like .3 second or so to react, I could shield about once in a 3 stuns when spamming pentagram (latency, lag).
But like I said, I recall stun being revised, so I don't really know how it is anymore.
