Let's discover some tropical spiders in the hills somewhere, or in Serenwilde, or in the mountains, or something.

I agree. I argued this before, about how the Tosha quest is nearly impossible for many people now, but noone cared about it
Nyla2005-10-04 16:15:49
NO..
Unknown2005-10-04 16:19:09
Just fix Glomdoring to reflect its commune status. No monopoly on spiders, no huntable trees, -weak- huntable creatures.
Nyla2005-10-04 16:21:26
There is nothing to fix.. you have all the frogs for that poison and you dont hear anyone complaining.
Thorgal2005-10-04 16:32:46
Ya, Serenwilde has a monopoly on tetrodin.
Then again, Glomdoring has monopolies on mactans, anerod and niricol.

Just make spiders elsewhere, so we don't have to die in enemy territory trying to complete a neutral quest.
And it has to be the kind of enemies that go to great lengths to sadistically destroy bodies.

Well, we can't EAT them, and you guys nearly instantly resurgem... we have to find *something* to do. *spore to Ravenwood, offer*
We're just envious that we have no resurgem-like skill.
And if you want spiders so badly... hire a novice to kill them for you? The spiders aren't that difficult, and those out of newton can take a good chunk of 'em (though probably not the widows). As for weakening the other critters... please. The Glomdoring isn't supposed to be composed of happy little deer prancing about with garlands of flowers strung round their necks. It's meant to be dangerous creatures that have every intention of eating us first if we give them the chance. Our home is basically a proving grounds-- if you can't survive there, you're going to have trouble anywhere else.

You do have a bashing area with free conglutinate, though.

Yes, we do.
If only I had had that conglutinate back when I actually hunted there.

Just put some spiders outside Glom. Leave them bats, and leave us frogs - everyone'll be happy.

Viravain would just tell all the spiders to come back home anyways, so...

I'm NOT saying 'nerf Glom!' but Glom has a monopoly on five poisons (clumsiness, withered arms, chills, weakness, blindness), two commodity quest items (wood, silk), and quest items for a completely neutral quest (spiders for Tosha). Serenwilde has a monopoly on one poison (deafness). Magnagora has a monopoly on nothing. Celest has a monopoly on nothing.
This just doesn't seem right to me.

Serenwilde, Magnagora, and Celest's power quest also give gold, but Glomdorings doesnt.
Xenthos2005-10-04 21:13:39
I'm also curious about that sleep poison from leeches, as well as crotamine and senso.

Have you forgotten that we have a quest which gives us more gold than their power quests? At least, I am pretty sure it gives more - Serenwilde has 50 gold per pixie, we get 500 gold per pus-thing.

How many oozes does it take for each of those, though? And how much harder is it to kill an ooze than to give a leaf to a pixie? (Not that the oozes are all that tough.)

I was the one who suggested thats why ours doesnt give gold. Pixies appear faster than oozes.
