Indeed, it isn't new. It seems to happen pretty randomly and if I'm right only started after dive was implemented. I sometimes pop out 'Deep below the Pool of Stars' though I haven't in a long time, really. Hell, if I recall there was even a story about someone mysteriously drowning under Glomdoring.

And Ixchilgal that's nothing. In early November last year, the Fates robbed me blind. I died with Vestiphobia, and the Fates giggled as I casually stripped and gave them everything I had before returning me to the land of the living.
