Not EVERYONE in Hallifax was a logical lucidian. The trill were also big there too, remember. I think they would help to de-logicifize the structure a little bit, make it a LITTLE less rigid and structured. But not a lot, of course. Just enough flexability to work with. They also probably have feelings, they would just be able to control them to the extent of not seeming to have them.

I'd start a drunken Trill character!

I picked Hallifax. I'll have Richter design me a whip.
Iridiel2005-11-02 17:56:00
Hallifax:
The lucidians keeping everything in order, with cold logic and the benefit of the city. Also slaves...
That makes me thing the trills are all shut into nice golden cages, where they can decorate the city, and whiped if they stop singing.

Golden cages... (thinks on her poem in her signature) Yeah...I can see that. Quick! Free the winged ones!
Rauros2005-11-03 22:19:43
Neither. Let em rot in timelessness forever.
And it's not like we have a playerbase big enough to support them anyway, unless you split serenwilde up into three factions... and even then Serenwilde would still be the biggest faction in the game.

We won't be seeing a sufficient playerbase until Lusternia expands in selections. Many people have already grown tired of the limited geography/socities in Lusternia and returned to Achaea or Imperian. Add two more cities and people will be flooding to join our diverse community. Once Gaudiguch and Hallifax are returned then Lusternia, we will be able to boast that we have the most diverse selection of cities and forest communities in IRE.

Limited?!? Why, we have good and evil, good and evil, and rouges be damned! Isn't that good enough for you??
Unknown2005-11-16 06:29:31
If we dont have a large enough player base to sustain them basically when they come out, they'll turn out worse then Glom did in the early days and find it really hard to catch up.

That's funny coming from you, since you wanted to join us at one point. Anyways, Glomdoring was similar to Serenwilde, as far as archtypes and environment go. Gaudiguch and Hallifax will be completely different in both respects.
Unknown2005-11-16 06:40:15
Shhh, no bring that up. Gaudi and Halli would be cities, thus Guardian, Knight, Mage. And Yes bringing them out would bring new players it, it'd also in the early days depopulate most probably Glom amd Celest since they're pretty crap to live in right now. We need a large player base to support them in the early days before all the noobs come flooding in for it.
Unknown2005-11-16 06:46:31
Yeah ive ALREADY gone tired of what there is to do in lusty and ive not played that long, open up new places and the palyers will come.
Astraea2005-11-16 06:57:12
While new places would bring in more people for sure. We'd have people in existing places with low numbers leaving in order to populate them in the beginning. No one is saying new places won't bring new people--But the damage will be done. Especially if Hallifax came out, I feel that Celest would take a very big hit. While Magnagora and Serenwilde can handle the losses better, Glom and Celest are JUST making it. For instance, the Shadowdancers only *just* got an Administrator and Champion. And we pretty much have no more choices if those two were to leave. Now just imagine if Four High ranking Shadowdancers wanted to leave and go Gaudiguch or Hallifax. (I think Ackleberry would be more applicable though, as it is the whole..forest thing) Anyway. Those four leave. Now we are out of Secretaries, Undersecretaries, Administrator, Champion. Possible GM. And we'd have to fill up those places quickly, and with people who might not be the best choices for the positions. It could quickly fall to pieces, if they were brought out too soon.
Iridiel2005-11-16 11:06:26
Not going to happen soon I hope. Too many things aren't working well enough to get the coders to develop new archetypes and add more factors to the already hard balancing thing.
Besides, we really don't have a big enough playerbase that would allow the existing cities to stay populated enough to be any fun, as besides all those people with RP reasons to move to H/G there's all those who just want to test the new flashy skills, and will move or just create alts and be inactive on their primary city.
