For what Lunge-esque attacks can do, the fact they can be done for less than 10 power is absolute BS. I want a 4 power skill that completely negates all defenses/resistances and allows me to cudgel people.

Sadly this would still suck for us because our damage SUCKS
I want smudges to go through shield. make smudges go through shield if they started before the person shielded.. like it already locks on

I'm still waiting for someone devise a feasible strategy to fight against someone who can kill you two hits with attacks that go through all the supposed defenses that "make up" for it.

I have a feasable strategy, person walks in room. Person lunges. Heartstop. I am dead anyways, might as well not benefit them for it.

Even if I "hinder" the person they are going to get the attack through eventually and standing there doing nothing but vines @target so they can't lunge me is a pretty stupid tactic when my passive damage isn't going to do bugger all to them.

So far no one's realy arguing for the unstoppable 2 hitter. I come closest, saying that with good healing you should hold at least 4 hits (or combos in the case of one-handeds) though BAD healing methods can allow a 2 hit kill.

Assault, I believe, is new though, added to empower one of the weaker guild skills. I doubt it's a message from the Admin saying "screw you weak people" and more of a "oww, this needs tweaking bad" matter.

If a Power that Bes comes here and says "Assault is working perfectly" THEN it's time to revolt. Till then, put it beside the Ground-enabled Sap and other issues.

By 2 hit kills we are speaking of lunge-esque attacks. Not normal combos. I can deal with normal swings/jabs. Nobody can deal with 2 - 3 lunges, other than some of the very tankiest warriors, and even then I bet the 4th would take them down.

How about make lunge do no wounding, or afflictions, just 3/4 your normal raw damage, period?

You know, High Elfen Moonburst kills me in around 2 hits, maybe I am left with 200 health there.


You probably shouldn't have Treelife up and instead of it Treebane, so that you can cudgel from above...but that's my oppinion.

In your other log Daevos' assault only got you down for 900 health.. you were under Omen or sensitivity here.

Also, my lunges do 300 damage to soft targets, it really isn't lunge/assault that's the problem, it's elemental runes.

Malicia: I said 'ground' not 'group': the idea the sap is working on the ground instead of just the trees. It needs tweaking (unless that's how it's supposed to work now).

And I'll include Lunge right along with assault. In fact, add ANY darn move that can't be stopped in two blows by someone with decent healing/skills/hp. I can see 4 hits MAYBE, since it should gives time to hinder, parry, kill them first, or just run away.

A question, though: how's Shieldparry for non-warriors (ignoring the 'oh god, not another thing to wield/unwield' arguments for a moment)? Perhaps that needs to be empowered up to deal with these shield-avoiding attacks? Either that or have ALL power-blows be shield blockable and all moves that get around shield be less damaging than a normal Strike.

Guys, has anyone posted a copy of a lunge/assault from a trans blademaster/pureblade person who doesn't have artifact weapons? Your data points here suck. They're basically "Daevos, ow."

Like /duh/. Thats like me complaining about aquamancy damage because all I ever fight is /Geb/.

Get more stats. Post more stats. Find out what lunge/assault is like with the same warrior with differing str/dex, with the same warrior with the same str/dex but different weapons, etc. I think you may find that the average lunge doesn't actually hurt that much, but its when people carry it to an extreme (as in this case, or any case involving a Warrior with trans-combat, trans-knighthood skill, one or more blessings and artifact runes on amazing weapons) that the end result is .. well, whorish.

I just hope this isn't changed before I do the above so I can join in the pain delivery to soft Magnagoran targets. smile.gif

Shieldparry works great if you're Nihilist/Celestine and therefore not normally wielding a weapon to parry with.

It does not matter what modifiers people have to get their damage or wounding this high.

It is clearly overpowered and thus needs changing.

Showing that people without runes are not as powerful would accomplish what, exactly?
