So... not screwing them over would've been helping them lose the village to Glomdoring? Seriously. You weren't there Malicia. We did what has always been done in the past regarding villages, whoever has the greater number influences. There is no way that Celest could have won that village, none. Because those members of Celest were present chose to influence rather than go with the strategy that's been used for the last 6 months between Serenwilde and Celest doesn't equate to us screwing them over. However, if they, and you really wish to view it that way, there's nothing that we can do to convince you differently. And Malicia, I have seen you there, when we had more members than Celest and we attempted to take Delport, a village even closer to Celest's heart than Rockholm. The reason was the same then as now. Were you screwing over Celest that time?

I'll just be straight with it. I feel bad. It doesn't feel good to screw other people over, in or out of game. That's my main issue here. Nothing can really change my mind on that. If our roleplay or the histories state that we should be cutthroat savages, fine. It's not how Malicia is. I hate Glomdoring. Magnagora. I don't hate Celest and won't be forced to conform to some pre-written ideologies.

On the converse some of us like those prewritten ideologies they are what drew us to the game. In the end it is a judgement call. You think it was Seren screwing Celest over others think it would have been Serenwilde screwing Serenwilde over considering Celest's recent issues. So would you rather Glomdoring have the village? That is the viewpoint of the Serens involved. Determining who is 'right' from a totally objective view is impossible.

I don't like screwing people over either but I've seen it happen often enough in Lusternia that I've come to accept it. It is the whole damn reason I quit this game for two months. It was quite a new and unpleasant experience for me in a roleplay environment. I gave up hope for it ever changing. *shrug*

Celest could have easily won that village if Serenwilde had helped them. You dominated the area with your druids and wisp traps. It was Serenwilde's choice to take the village, your force and fortification was so great, that by the time I arrived it was clearly only a choice between Celest and Serenwilde regarding winning the village. I just stuck in there and tried to help Glomdoring out of pure stubbornness.

Exacly my point. I already posted that we would take this village if Seren would juts stop influencing and just kill Mags and Gloms. I didnt saw single Celestine death.
Only Kaileigh died to Kelodan.

Thanks for support Daevos.

Yeah, first I got an IM over AIM that Southgard revolted, and a few minutes later another IM telling me we had no chance, that it was a lost cause for us.. Serenwilde dominated Southgard.

We should have given it to them why? We help them out sometimes, yeah, but we don't wrap things in pink ribbons and do all the work for them.
Gregori2005-10-08 15:58:37
You are forgeting the fact that alot of the people there wouldn't have stayed if we helped Celest and at the time they had next to nobody to influence and we had a huge lead. In the time it would have taken them to turn that around any number of factors could have come into play. More Magnagorans, more Glomdoring people. Seren having to leave, Seren who don't want to help Celest to begin with leaving.

We can play could have, would have, should have till the cows come home. Serenwilde made a judgement call based on the numbers available and we would do it again. In fact we have done it many many times.

History is like an endless waltz. The three beats of war, peace and revolution continue on forever.

Strangely fitting for those that might figure what I'm thinking about.

Miss them too.. was so damn funny seeing Chade make Seren and Celest hate each other. And he actually managed to have Seren (anti-taint) ally with Magnagora (tainted) looooved it! biggrin.gif

There have been times, when Celest was in danger of losing a village and gave us the OK to take over in order to keep it from Magnagora/Glomdoring. I'm ALWAYS in contact with someone from Celest. I hardly find it to be the same as this situation. We secured a village and could have let Celest take it over from that point, but instead, we ignored them because we had already gotten started. Greed.

1. Our starting goal was to help them. It should have ended that way. The moment Ekard said, Hey, I got some people here, we should have let them take it. Why whine about having to help them with the village if that was our PRIMARY GOAL? Don't twist things.

You guys can justify it all you want. No need to defend yourselves to me.

Didn't misspell anything ninja.gif blush.gif

Now end the hijack, let's deal with this IC and see where it gets us!
I've always wanted to see some more fluent alliances. Like Glom-Seren for example.
Ashteru2005-10-08 16:17:13
One day, I'll read this thread again and think 'Man...how difficult was life before I became GM of the Pyromancers. And this thread founded the everlasting hate between Serenwilde and Celest...'

*murmur* Okay, maybe not, but still that sounds cool. ninja.gif

Unfortunately Glom/Seren alliance ain't in the cards. It could have been if They chose to handle the Fae differently, but there is to many diametricly opposed idealogies for an alliance to happen. As it is we have a serious issue with trying to keep an unsteady peace and not all out warfare.
Thaemorn2005-10-08 16:21:36
I don't care about defending the actions HERE on the forums.

I just find it interesting that the general consensus seems to be that we're not allowed to be power-hungry, or take advantage of a situation when it suits us, without having it frowned upon from an OOC perspective.

Seems like a valid attitude to me.
