QUOTE(Cron @ Oct 8 2005, 01:26 PM)
Betrayed maybe. For their own personal power? Everything I'm hearing says it was because Daevos and Ixion showed up the viallage needed to be grabbed by someone quick before the tide turned.
201442
Oh, we have very good reasons. And certainly nothing about personal power or betrayal.
But we are in a different mindset to Celest. This forum is not some arbitration court where we weigh up all the reasons objectively and decide who is 'right'.
Serenwilde acted in accordance with its beliefs and outlook.
Celest will view those actions in accordance with their own beliefs and outlook.
The two aren't necessarily going to have a common ground, and they're going to be different.

Why does this whole thing have to be defended ICly in an OOC forum?
Celest, Serenwilde betrayed you for their own personal power. Now isn't that an interesting twist!

Right on the money, Elryn.
See... we're not allowed to consider the possiblity of playing characters with a hint of fanatiscm, blind faith or patriotism.
Because then we become thugs, and offend people OOC.
Funny, I get along well enough with most Glomfolk and Magnagorans OOC. Despite the fact that Magnagorans eat my corpse for an after-battle celebration.
Gregori2005-10-08 13:32:22
When I got there, before Daevos and Ixion in fact, there was a total of 3 Celestians on scent, and Serenwilde had like 15 people influencing. However if people feel their paths may change over this, then more power to them, I said a long ago that some people are a little more Celest than they care to admit.

It's taken you long enough to cotton onto that, I've used that threat at least three times and it's worked.
201434
Yeah, I let it work. I've sat quietly with this realization in order to stop a potential conflict. Oh well. Can't say I'm not disappointed in Serenwilde, but I always figured it would happen eventually
Malicia2005-10-08 13:33:35
You mean the Serenguard, Ibaesha? And no, had I been there, we wouldn't have killed dwarves influenced by Celest and on my orders, I could have them pull back. They sort of..well, listen to me.
Gregori2005-10-08 13:35:37
No she meant the Serenwilde. We were there immediately influencing, and as for pulling them back on your order. It is probably a good thing there was ummm.. no Serenguard there that I really recall. So pulling back nobody wouldn't have hurt in the slightest.
Unknown2005-10-08 13:37:06
I really should do something about a sig.
I'm not sure why all this heavy debate, honestly. Serenwilde and Celest both responded to Southgard immediately. Glomdoring was there as well, Magnagorans showed up after the FFA ended. Serenwilde had greater numbers from the start. When I spoke to Ekard, I checked cwho to see how many people we had and honestly believed the sensible thing was for Serenwilde to influence. They had already begun. Ekard told me there were only four Celestians. I never entertained the thought that we would pull out after getting the village under control and hand it to them. And honestly, I never saw -any- point at which they would've been able to assume control and win the village against Glomdoring and Magnagora. I'm not too combat or strategy savvy but I believe that those of Serenwilde who are would say so.
If you read the thread, you'd note that no Serenguard killed dwarves. One person killed dwarves. He wasn't stopped. If that's a problem, I'm sure Malicia can take it up with his GM.

Or... someone else.
Malicia2005-10-08 13:38:47
Would I look good in blue? As a merian Paladin? Eep.
Gregori2005-10-08 13:49:08
Seriously as much as I have a fondness for you Malicia, if you are going to walk out because your commune mates did what they felt was for the best interest of thier and your commune. Instead of aiding a city to which most of the commune can't stand us being tied to, then you do belong elsewhere. Will be sorry to see you go, but if you are putting Celest before Serenwilde there is something wrong with that picture.
Malicia2005-10-08 13:55:20
It's under consideration.

You sure would!
And rhayni... you're Ibaesha, right? Why on earth would I want to talk to you about it IC? You're not on the Serenwilde council. I've already sent Nejii a message asking to talk to him, we'll see what comes of that, though likely it'll just be the dissolution of the ESA.
Gregori2005-10-08 13:57:10
Good the majority of the Serenwilde can't stand the ESA either.

Same.
Celest does need more people, good people, Malicia. I would hate to see you go, but maybe you're just what they need. I don't know. I still think you're failing to see the full picture because the simple fact is, you weren't there. Had you been, I know you would've agreed with the course we took outside of the killing of the dwarves, which you could've spoke out against.
Unknown2005-10-08 14:00:42
Ahh. I see, only leaders are worth discussing matters with ingame. Otherwise we can do it all OOC. Gotcha.

Heh you would be surprised just how much power a well respected ex leader has. But, nonetheless, she offered herself as a point of conversation about the issue. Nejii and others have many things on their minds, Ibaesha is less busy these days.
