Which is allowed, I'm told. You're allowed to keep the trans item of a skill as long as you have the ability to switch back to that trade skill on whim. IE, A trans forger going to Guardian couldn't keep his fullplate because he can't switch back to Forging. A jeweller switching to Enchantments could have both trans items because he has both skills available.

By that logic anyone could get their own Fascinate Gem and Splendor robe since anyone can take those two tradeskills (assuming they have enough credits) regardless of archetype.

It is. I advise you learn the policy.

Which is a pity, since, you know, most people don't have the credits to switch back from tradeskill to tradeskill on a whim. And it doesn't do wonders for game balance, either. (Picture Narsrim with Splendour robes, a Fascinate gem, a Tome,and the trans herbalist advantage. Yeah, see where the problem is?)

So as not to hijack the thread, I'd like to point out that I also called Richter a 'poseur' on that same channel after my last quoting.

Couldn't you buy a rune and toss it on say... a crown, bond with the crown, forget enchantment and switch to jewelry then keep it and the gem? You'd forever have your crown AND the gem. (not that the crown is anything particularly special)

Sure, you'd be allowed to keep it as long as you stayed in the guardian/mage archetype. (I'm told)

I'd just like to state that he's an unplesant combatant in that everytime I walk into a room with him or he walks into a room with me I get very nervous and want to run away to save myself. Not saying he's an unplesant person to speak to, because I've found him to be quite friendly.
