Kalas are just violent.
When you put the Borg and the Zerg togather, they ARE going to be violent.

I don't want to think about what a Borgling rush would look like.

Zergling rushes aren't THAT bad. Provided you have enough Firebats/Marines, or Zealots/Goons.
But Borgling rush?
Ouch... That'd hurt. They adapt so you'd be able to take down like 6 then they'd own you because they'd be invulnerable to your attacks.
Tho' Maybe not to Marines... I recall Picard whipping out the Tommy and just owning a couple.
That confused me. Why then didn't the Enterprise just replicate a bunch of HK-MP5s or other 20th century machine guns instead of relying on their Phaser Rifles if the Borg can adapt to energy but not solid projectiles?
Richter2006-09-27 17:38:34
Because the plot didn't call for it.
Remember, when asked how fast the Defiant went, the producer replied, "At the speed of the plot."
But, right, they should have gone all SG-1 on them. Goa'uld weapons and Asgard weapons didn't work on the replicators, but shotguns and MP-5's sure did.

The Borg would've adapted eventually. The advantage of phasers is that you can change the polarity to get a couple of free shots.
Unknown2006-09-27 18:51:50
a Borling rush is a Magnawilde raid on Celestia with a lot of big and strong Maggies. Or maybe just a big Mag raid. Remember when we killed the Supernals with like 20 people
ZOMG ZERG RUSH!

Mind telling me how you scientifically adapt to a high-speed projectile shoving its way through your frame? I mean, the borg could have tried doing personal energy shields or something, but they would have had to assimilate a culture that could do such, and energy shields could be shorted out by other energy weapons. I can kind of see how they could adapt their circuitry to shunt energy charges away from vital areas (hey, it's a stretch, but POSSIBLE I guess?) Projectiles, on the other hand..?

Kind of what I was thinking. Wonder if they'd adapt to a kick in the nuts too, maybe they have some kind of nuts polarity... thing. *EYESHIFT*
And if I remember correctly, didn't the Borg at one point adjust to the rotating phasers so even that didn't work? I've seen a lot of Star Trek episodes and movies, but they're kind of all jumbled up in my head.

They always adjust to the rotating phasers. It just starts over again with a new set of rotating phasers in the next episode! *coughs*

10 points to RIchter for the phrase 'rotating phasers', which I find terribly amusing for some reason

'Goons suck against zerglings. Their attacks are way too slow to deal with a swarm of 'lings.
Diamondais2006-09-27 22:07:56
Off topicness is funny.
Unknown2006-09-27 22:14:21
Bats are clearly the best against lings, because they do spread damage and aoe damage to all attacking zerglings upon their death.
