That's why you can improvise. I once had a complete newbie eagerly respond with an affirmative answer there, so I got to adlib an "Impressive devotion in one so young! And yet ..." then steer the ritual back on course.

I also tend to add a few more actions when I lead a Seeking Rite. Gesturing when to rise as appropriate, falling silent expectantly to await a response, etc. As it's written out, there's the core of the words and intent, but in most rituals there's room to personalize a bit and make it special.
