Nightsight? Thats the only "useless" defence on that list that I can see thats available to everyone to be honest.

If I didn't have trans magic, Narsrim's moonbursts would kill me in a few seconds, now they barely tickle, plus all the other hidden effects, hardly useless. I always loved trans magic as much as trans resilience.

It's definately not one of the defences he listed, so I assume it's the magic skillset.

So does that mean that the huge magic resistance I have from being a Furrikin Moondancer is actually worth something now? I mean, I'm not going to be worried about Moonburst most days.

Of course not. I have maiden resistance, aura, magic proof, etc... and it was drain 1k a pop.

Out of all of those, these are the only ones available to everyone and somewhat-useless. I guess you could count deathsense partially too.

Metawake is not useless.

Sylphas, trans magic affects things other than magic resistance, so our fuzziness won't help I'm afraid.

Oh, I know, but if Succumb was simply a large base mana drain, and then a small percentage, larger magic resistance would kick it down to a much smaller level, so Trans Magic would help a lot, as would being Furrikin or a Moondancer. But it's not, so bleh.

Well see, trans magic shortens toadcurse time a little, but magic resistance does not, I'm thinking it's the same deal with Succumb here.

Apparently. Not sure why, exactly, since it is basically damage reduction, but oh well. Just something to bump up in priority.

I've discovered the secret defense:

If you are sexy, Succumb kicks your butt because Mother Night gets jealous when anyone more attractive than dirt is around her. However, if you are ugly as sin, she tolerates you a bit more.
