On this topic, I once had Shikari threaten to kill me because using Rage, someone was slain in his presence. Now, how in the hell do tell that (it was in Ethereal Glomdoring at the Archway)? I thought it was bs, and I sincerely hope he was bluffing.

Gods should not be able to interact with anyone that does not worship them or belong to an organization they patron, simple as that. Except Estarra, 'cause she's awesome. And Roark, because he needs to fix the world we keep breaking.

I dsiagree. I like the interaction. Shikari, for example, tried to imprison me once. I thought it was neat.
My only concern is being slain when I have absolutely no way of knowing something. It is one thing to be held responsible for attacking someone when you *see* an Elder God in the room. It is another to be held responsible when you zap someone with a ranged attack and could not feasibly have any idea.

And what would be the point in that? Not to mention, how would anyone join and Order or choose a Divine as a Patron if they can't interact with them to do it...

Erm, I didn't mean not talk to, I meant not kill, maim, set fire to their forest, etc. Players should be doing that stuff
Hajamin2005-10-09 10:18:17
Ah, so you just want all Divine RP to stop... ok.

Also, I think you're missing the fact that that'd negate nearly 99% of all the roleplaying events and what not. I always felt as a player that the large scale events were the main reasons I stayed around, so I highly doubt this would be a good idea if we want to keep our playerbase. I'll assume you were exaggerating for effect.

Okay, the general idea is
1. Don't kill someone or go mucking about a temple... if you are going to go kill someone in a temple, understand that if the God is in your presence when you do it, you're screwed. Just consider it an added challenge in this case.
2. Probably don't want to kill people remotely albeit I wouldn't as an admin, condone a God actually killing someone if I was sitting in a random room in Serenwilde, and someone walked in and killed Raez's follower in front of him. However, I'm more than welcome to incapacitate them or move the person I'm speaking with and myself to another location. (Obviously, I'm not going to be sitting and chatting with someone in the middle of a revolting village as teams are trying to influence, this would be an error on my part or Hajamin injected Raez with something). Temples and minorly fulcruxes are exempt from this rule, because you're walking on the God in question's ground. (Think of it like walking across Raez's back, be an ass or step too hard and he'll probably retaliate)
3. Don't screw with the Gods. Some Gods are a little more care free than others, but outright insults generally result in bad things happening to your character. Raez is all for a little fun, heck he needles Munsia, randomly does weird silly things, tumbles around Celest... but insult Him and he'll be quite happy to flip the switch and turn you into goo.

I don't know why you quoted me as I don't see how that relates to my quote. I have a firm grasp on what will and will not constitute divine punishment. My only concern was the freakish scenario where Shikari threatened to kill me for "not knowing where it is all the time."
Knowing Shikari IC, I imagine he was just bluffing and just trying to torture me in response to me torturing Glomdoring. That's fine... I'm just saying that if it would actually happened, I'd be a bit disappointed.

As ever, if you have a complaint about a God's behaviour send it to support@lusternia.com
Otherwise, take it on the chin. The Gods will not be hamstrung, and seeing as only a small group of people seem to get in trouble with them frequently, I see no need for them to be.
