Back to Common Grounds.

2927h, 3839m, 3992e, 10p, 19781w ex-invoke spring daevos

Raising your hands to the sky, you face eastwards and beseech the Spirits of
Spring to cleanse Daevos. A sparkling wind surges from the east and wraps
around Daevos, to cleanse his aura.

Daevos's prismatic barrier flickers and retreats into the top of his skull.
With a final heave, Daevos pulls a wild node free of the ground, and it begins
to make an odd humming noise as he picks it up.
Daevos has uprooted a wild node in the Astrosphere of Taurus.
Umm... it didn't.

It did. but now if he can run fast he can get away without anyone being able to stop him

I made the change part way through the event when it was noticed how unbalancing the tactic was.

It would be better if Seren had Aquarius and Glom had Aries...but that doesn't make sense..except I always thought Glom would be aligned with Aries because of the rooms there unsure.gif

Politics don't come into decisions like this - what if we did move Serenwilde towards Celest's sphere, and then later on Serenwilde and Celest become deadly enemies and they become friendly with Magnagora, so they use the Megalith to get up to Astral?
Daevos2005-10-11 01:41:24
Besides they are holding true to the astral alignment of the Astrology event.
Qaletaqa2005-10-11 01:45:43
It makes sense that Communes can't access Astral Plane because their nexus doesn't connect to a Cosmic plane or an elemental one...I mean they are primitive by that and they do have astrologers so they have ways of getting there.

I guess you should all learn Astrology its great fun. Astroglide was actually put in there for Communes more so than Cities. Not only that but if a sphere gets disjointed you can easily teleport out.

We all know this already blink.gif and we arent arguing that our nexus should connect its the fact that if we are suppose to play this game that our only way up besides astroglide (suggessting we all learn astrology is stupid) or a cubix is the megalith and us enemies cant get up that way
Alger2005-10-11 02:00:58
umm cubixing is not pointless. Being able to jump spheres is a huge advantage...

What stops someone from jumping to our sphere grabbing a node then getting an empress spore even teleporting back?

What stops someone from grabbing randomly scattered nodes around the area by just jumping spheres using a cubix?

What stops someone from deploying armies in a blink of an eye to your sphere?

If we dont have a cubix it's almost impossible to really if the other side had done it right. Just for the simple fact that we cant move around as fast, theyll just end up dancing around us.

Yea, I have to agree with that.
Corr2005-10-11 02:06:57
I would make the following suggestions.

Keep one sphere between each commune/city so they don't directly touch to anyone (if thats possible)

Keep all the astrospheres connected during the event. Perhaps the surge of nodes has expanded the size of the spheres so much that now they are able to all touch eachother at once.

Seems a bit unfair to me to have enemies touching spheres to eachother, all the groups should be equidistant from eachother.

And you need to disable Cubixs working while on the Astral Plane, but ok to use it from Prime or the like.
Alger2005-10-11 02:14:03
you know what would be nice... connect all spheres hehe during the event. heh then my qualms with sporing around astral or hermiting around astral or cubxing is all gone.

Mmmm. Wouldn't you still be able to cubix in, get a node, and run out through the connected sphere then?
Nayl2005-10-11 02:37:51
I have just one word, to justify the not-always-connecting of Spheres.

Sprint.
Athana2005-10-11 02:38:47
Ooh..I forgot to ask..how long do these wonderful things last?

You have a health blessing.
You have a mana blessing.

EDIT: at least I'm pretty sure I got them from the wild nodes..
Acrune2005-10-11 02:44:36
Hey, mine didn't give me mana sad.gif

My opinion is that cubixes should be disabled during the event, and, due to the surging energy in astral, its possible for both cities and communes to go straight there through their nexus. I don't like there being people disadvantaged like that in such a fun game. If I wasn't able to get up to astral by myself, I probably wouldn't have played, and that'd be a shame.
Trasse2005-10-11 02:49:17
Probably a dumb idea, but what if the Communes constructed Astroportals or something? Serenwilde could have a big Stonehenge thing in a clearing (protecting the forest from whatever might come out of the portal), and Glomdoring could have a chamber deep underground or something. That way they can have an astral gate to their spheres, but still show their distrust of the plane. And yeah, having the nations' respective spheres equidistant from each other would make sense.
Acrune2005-10-11 02:50:54
I don't think it should be a permanant thing, because that'd shoot all rp to hell for the communes. We don't trust astral, but we're going there anyways!

I'm not sure how I got both..but it might be because I planted a node, dunno
Acrune2005-10-11 02:53:01
Nope, I planted Celest's first node. Go me. Couldn't defend it very well, because a Celest novice walked right in and uprooted it before I could gust him away. You should have seen me freaking.

Well if they have to go there because not going there is going to cost them power, RP is being shot to hell anyway. This would just be the most IC way I can think of to even this event out a little.
Revan2005-10-11 03:21:44
Hey.... a littl suggestion for the WIlde nodes game: Every time the game happens, afterwards the spheres should recharge back to crackling due to the power surges!
Acrune2005-10-11 03:26:40
Agreed.
