Maybe not to crackling..halo would be nice though
Unknown2005-10-11 04:38:57
Eh. I guess this will be good, to balance the power loss due to villages being worth half.

Hey.... a littl suggestion for the WIlde nodes game: Every time the game happens, afterwards the spheres should recharge back to crackling due to the power surges!

To halo or motes would be nice too.
Kaileigh2005-10-11 09:38:29
yay refill it so the losers can get more power when they drain it again.

Lisaera,
You along with other Gods have said in the past that it was intentionally difficult for Communes to reach Astral. Whereas you can argue that Astroglide is available, that is a weak argument considering that Astrology is a relatively uncommon selection -and- it isn't an early ability whereas a novice Nihilist could technically take all of Magnagora up to Astral.
There is a quite a difference.
=====================================================
Furthermore, was does said Commune do once it is up there? If people doesn't have nexus in Planar (which is 50% mythical of Planar), they cannot even get down... and to get down, they MUST use either the Pool of Stars or the Megalith.

Plus, why would the communes want to mess around with Astral nodes O.o
Unknown2005-10-11 10:15:34
Good question.
Unknown2005-10-11 10:20:44
Because you dont want the city scum to release Kethuru and try and taint the basin again by playing around on Astral!
Alger2005-10-11 12:43:16
I think an easy access should be made available to the communes.
Better yet put the same penalty on the cities for getting up on astral. Close cosmic to astral. Then have porting rooms on prime that shoots who ever is on it to astral in 5 min intervals.
yey.

I don't understand your argument, Narsrim, I was commenting on the complaint that the Seren sphere is next to Magnagora's sphere rather than Celest's, not how easy or difficult it is for communes to get to Astral at all.
Asarnil2005-10-11 15:46:31
I have a couple of suggestions that might help. Firstly disable cubixes during the event, but in compensation, give all organisations a way to transverse from prime to their home spherewithout needing special skills. That way not only does everyone not have to worry about finding their way to their base sphere at the beginning, but it keeps the action more fast-paced giving everyone easy access to get back UP to astral without needing a cubix, transcendant planar or a dead mage/guardian on their way back up.

Would it be possible to give the communes a different motive to the cities, perhaps? So the cities want to collect wild nodes, but the communes want to achieve something else entirely - maybe destroy nodes? Although that doesn't solve the problem of the communes being involved on Astral, I suppose.
The idea of communes being eager to collect and hoard power on Astral of all places just seems a bit strange.
The game itself sounds like fun, though.

hmm well i don't know what the concentric circles in serenwilde are used for, perhaps when this event happens a surge of power could cause them to become a pathway to astral as was suggested before.
but this does seem unfair, i'm trans moon/wicca (summon in planar) i am capable of surviving on the plane yet i could not get there without asking a novice of a city (who probably couldn't survive up there) or someone with nexus who would probably be up there already.
hmm perhaps it's time to bug lisaera for an explanation as to why all city communes are linked to astral even though only one was used to actively attempt to reach there (though i predict it's something along the lines of they are more advanced or whatever)

All cities have a link to Astral, Saran, due to the nature of their Nexus - all of them were present on Astral, as they exited through the Great Flame, remember?
The communes were against exploring anything past elemental, and view the Cosmic beings as a bad, bad thing - the nature spirits are what we should be listening to, not baby elder gods stuck in Never Never Land.
So, I understand why we don't have a link to Astral - although I'd like to see our Astrologers devise some form of method to get there via the needle or something.

hmm i was asking on ct (lisaera is unavailable) and my point is that
why did the flame have a reflection? what is it about the man-made nexuses that makes them this powerful?
untill recently i was generally working off the logic that when a city dweller actually tried to transverse to a higher plane for the first time that was when the reflection of the nexus was created which explained why the nexuses were connected as such(celest seeking out the plane of water) but now i've been thinking about it i don't fully understand as the flames reflection was there without it being used in the project. ("Oh no i've gone cross-eyed" Austin powers)
well perhaps it's time to write a letter to the lady

Hmmm, why not let people get to astral from the portal of fate or something...?
Unknown2005-10-12 05:23:29
If we let anyone pop up to Astral, it will lose all of its charm...
Corr2005-10-12 05:23:44
I think the point is to give us astrologers more clout!
Thank you!
Thank you!
Unknown2005-10-12 05:24:46
I'd love to see Celest enemying any Serens who try to reach Astral via the Pool during a Wild Nodes even.
