She did that for the quiz too.

I hope next time, all melds/terrain will be dissolved divinely. I'm told Magnagora had an ubermesne running well before the event started. Fairly lame.
And this is why village influencing is randomized.

Surprised the Serenwilde aren't either partaking in the event or doing so good.

They had no druid - I just arrived.
Unknown2005-10-23 20:17:48
And now, Kaervas holds the demesne, and the uberfast 1.3k staffcast, plus the ubermesne that was set up ahead of time...
Meh. Oh well.

I don't understand, a post was made and told you exactly when the event was starting. Why did one group have a disadvantage over another?
Corr2005-10-23 20:27:56
The post said 19:00GMT, its currently 20:25 and 18 minutes left of the event...
What error was there in daylight savings?
In california its currently 1:25 and so that means the event started at Noon.

Because some of us don't stoop to low tactics?
As I said, there's a reason villages are random. This is why.
I'm not complaining loudly, honestly. I'm at home, in the Keys, with my boy. I checked the forums, saw it was going on, hopped on. No power, powerblocked, power minister is gone, don't feel like dealing with it.
Honestly, I'm just slightly bugged some of our best fighters, knowing it was coming at this time, weren't online. Gregori, Thaemorn, Narsrim, Munsia - all gone. We had Malicia, Terenas. Singollo at one point. A lot of newbies were willing to throw themselves.. But a couple of good fighters, a ton of newbies, and an undeffed druid running on 10 power and 13% reserves..
I don't have the power to forest, and was the only druid online that had a damn for skills. I don't blame them for calling in the Aquas.. But, at the same time, I realized it would only cause stress if I played my character, so I logged off.
Better things to do than stress over something so unimportant.
Unknown2005-10-23 20:31:35
It isn't low tactics. The Glomdoring was able to pull a demesne together around half an hour beforehand. Villages are not like an all-out war on the Astral Plane. In fact, they are designed to be specifically diferent (ie, involving preparation)
Unknown2005-10-23 20:32:39
GMT is always on standard time. So at 19:00 - 5 hours = 4 PM, not 3 PM. And the post used PST, not PDT.
Malicia is actually chilling in her Manse with Amaru.

Corr2005-10-23 20:46:35
19:00 = 7pm.
7 - 5 would be 2...
19:00 - 5 would be 14:00 which equals 2 pm... But ofcourse with the way time works, that makes it 3pm...

I wasn't going to participate at all. Just before the event even started, the Mags jumped a team of people up there that were setting up and we never had a druid. Kalo showed up late and after getting tired of seeing people die up there, I decided to try and lead a group up, but Kalo ran out of power and we ended up having to rely on Shamarah with 10 minutes left. Things like this aren't very mandatory and has nothing to do with defense of the Serenwilde, villages, Faethorn or an offensive move against an enemy. I don't want to deal with Magnagora in any capacity. They don't know how to play a game straight and fair. Most of them anyhow.
I agree with YoLF on the demense thing. In wargames, we can't set up demenses until it starts. I wish this had been that way.

It's actually better than a village power-wise, if you do well it's a village that doesn't take guards to defend, but doesn't produce comms.
Magnagora's going to gain an extra 1000+ power each weave until the next game, as well as 10% less power required for all their guards. At least, if they fix the thing not actually giving power.
Malicia2005-10-23 20:58:57
My care-o-meter is at zero, currently.

Wildnodes is not some game for the arena.
And I don't think its proper for people to be responding to it like its an arena event.

It's an arena event outside the arena.

Whenever anyone complains about not having people around the other side always tells them to suck it up, Seren has done it plenty of times, as has every other group. Everyone had plenty of warning ahead of time, anytime in the last night that someone could get up to Taurus/etc.. to forest or otherwise prepare same as Glom and Magnagora did shortly before the event started

You do realize that it takes a geomancer what... ~120 lessons to get up to Astral? It takes a druid 50% mythical in Planar. Furthermore, that just gives them access to use the Pool or Megalith. Given most Serens are enemied to Magnagora, they'd have to walk from Cancer -> Scorpio -> Leo/Libra -> Tauros... and then after foresting it, what? Stay there and defend it for the next 6 hours when a novice Geomancer can pop up to Capricorn, which borders Tauros?

The arena is like the olympics, you get some pride but its mainly just there for the sportsmanship.
Wildnodes is like the spacerace, you not only get some pride but its also about being the best and destroying the others while your at it.
I'm curious, but based on what I thought I heard estarra shouting, if the nations did not plant the wild nodes then there would have been a risk of our nexi going -boom- from all the wild power floating around.
