Influence idea

I think races should get a "home" influence boost when influencing their own race. For example, dwarves have 10 charisma. However, they are one of the least adept races are influencing in Southgard and Rockholm.

I would like to suggest that races recieve a homeland bonus that would make them at the very least up to par with other races when influencing their own kind. First, it just makes sense. I don't care how pretty a Faeling is, a dwarf would be able to relate to a dwarf.

Southgard/Rockholm = Dwarves

Tosha = Loboshigaru

Angkrag = Viscanti (aren't the master people Viscanti?)

Acknor = Orclach

Estelbar = Furrikin

Paavik = Krokani

Etc, etc, etc

This would also apply to village influencing. Discuss.

Makes sense. I would like it.

I don't influence. However, this idea sounds cool and makes sense. I like it. thumup.gif

This would be unfair for those with cameos as they could change to become what they need to infelunce. If it was your natural born, or reincarnated race i could understand but if its just whatever you are at the time cameos would give an unfair advantage.

People with Cameos are Changlings, not whatever race they are pretending to be. I'd say if this was implemented, they shouldn't get the bonus.

Tosha counts as a village?

Suuuure. Take away the faeling advantage, Narsrim.

I think this is a good idea so long as it doesn't completely wipe out the advantages of high charisma.

I don't see why this would be a problem. Sounds good.

And in regards to cameos, they can be used anyway to get a huge advantage during influencing. Aside from debating, that's the thing that irks me most when we're influencing. That is what they're paying for though.

If people with cameo's can change to faeling to influence, I don't see why they shouldn't be able to use this posibility to their advantage. I like the idea.

My idea is for this to be in place in "racial areas" not just villages... but of course, villages count as "racial areas."

Since success in influence is measured by a number of factors - amount of ego, damage delivered by influence, damage taken by questioning, and speed of influence attacks... which would you be proposing is changed by racial familiarity?

Would it be a set level of influence skill to which you are raised if below, or a bonus added on to your current level?

And I take it Faethorn would be the Faeling and Elfen home advantage.

I like the idea.

Uhhh, why would orclach get a bonus in Acknor, dont orclach hate the orcs since they degenerated from them when they were affected with the taint, it doesn't really make that much sense rp wise.
Ixion2005-10-14 04:33:38
Orclach have ruled over the orcs, so they know the nuances of orcs and what they will listen to- makes sense to me.
