Subj: Kegs and Cubes

Artisans may now craft kegs (which are considered like boxes) and
jewelers may craft energy cubes. Kegs can be used by alchemists to hold
up to 100 potions. Kegs can be priced by a shopkeeper to give refills.
Energy cubes can hold up to 999 charges of raw energy which can be used
to recharge magic items. Cubes can be priced by shopkeepers to recharge
items. See HELP KEGS AND CUBES for more information.

6.11.4 KEGS AND ENERGY CUBES

There are two special types of storage items that are used differently in
shops than other items. Kegs are used to refill vials with potions and
energy cubes are used to recharge enchanted items.

WOODEN KEGS
===========
Kegs are considered a type of box container and are made by Artisans.
Alchemists may fill kegs from their alembics, just as though they were
vials. However, kegs may hold enough liquid to fill up to 100 vials. Kegs
can then be used to refill vials.

  Syntax: REFILL FROM

When a keg is priced in a shop, the price set is how much the shopkeeper
is charging for each vial refill. You must bring your own vial, of course,
to use a refill.

ENERGY CUBES
============
Energy cubes are created by Jewelers. Enchanters may enchant an energy
cube which will fill it with raw energy. Note that energy cubes absorb
energy at a much faster rate than normal enchanting. An energy cube may
contain enough raw energy that is the equivalent of 999 enchantment
charges. The raw energy can then be used to recharge enchanted jewelry and
scrolls. (NOTE: Magic tomes may not be recharged by an energy cube.)

  Syntax: RECHARGE FROM

When an energy cube is priced in a shop, the price set by the shopkeeper
is the cost per charge. When recharging an item, the energy cube must have
enough energy to fully recharge the item and it will always fully recharge
the item.

You tard. That took you about 15 seconds.

Great...the day I wanted to go inactive gets an announce that makes it attractive to become a shopowner...>.<

They should allow beer, liquor, posions, and funky stuff like absynthe in kegs as well.

Maybe I can now actually make some gold with my trade closedeyes.gif

I think this is an amazing change, and it'll help destroy the complaints about how all refilling access can be cut off, if each city has a shop with a keg full of each refill. Absolutely awesome.

Athana dear, I'll be ordering a few cubes from you when we get back wink.gif.
And probably a few kegs for the alchemists in the family as well. -ROMP-

LOVE THIS STUFF!!

Oh, I do have a question though, for the cubes, it is just raw magic right, you don't have to enchant a cube for each specific type of enchantment you do, do you? And I'm assuming the items being recharged have to have at least 1 charge left on them correct?

Yay to the admins again for yet another great addition to the game. wub.gif

While I think it's generic power, I honestly hope it's for each specific type. Because it's that way for alchemy.

This seems awesome, but I think it's really going to hurt a lot of alchemists who don't have shops. I mean, I will never buy from any cook besides Ibaesha, because her shop is stocked and it's convenient. If you can keep a shop stocked, you suddenly grab a large majority of the business, if you're priced reasonably.

I dunno, the other trades have dealt with it, I guess I'll have to wait and see. Also, will these be 60 sip refills, or 50?

The alchemists without shops should be refilling the kegs for non-alchemist shopkeepers.

I hope cubes are about 10x more expensive then kegs then, because you'll need one of those, instead of 10+ kegs to cover all the potions.

DOn't forget about me!!!
Vesar2005-10-16 19:23:22
So, is every enchanter going to be able to charge these or will a new skill be put into the Enchantment skillset?
Unknown2005-10-16 19:26:36
I hope it's near trans enchantment!

Yea, It's not going to be right when a low skilled enchanter is able to enchant one of these to give people every type of enchantment blink.gif
silimaur2005-10-16 19:32:26

Yes, I was just realizing that was needed.

The question is how high should it be? Near trans?
