And I'd say your ways to hinder a dreamweaver are more along that "half truth at best" line.  That's not hindering the weaver at all, that's hindering yourself.  The weaver's still around, not even getting hit by violet/kether if you run, and when someone does violet/kether they can just waltz away.

What is wrong with a tactical retreat, reform, get someone else who can violet, go back, and kill the dreamweaver together?
Sylphas2005-10-21 17:58:30
Because that's not "HA! DIE!" enough for them. Mostly I just ignore dreamweavers, and have only ever died to one or even got close when I had just logged in and hadn't gotten insomnia or kafe up yet.

cause the people in question aren't used to being susceptible to anyone else?

rolleyes.gif Right. Unless you're calling me a God at combat or something, a notion which I'd have to disagree with. I'm susceptible to a lot of things. Dreambodies, on the other hand, aren't. Violet, kether, and apparently another highmagic skill.

Violet and Kether are the commonly available skills for attacking Dreamforms and ghosts. Psionists also have access to Psiblade as well as at least one or two more similar attacks, they are not completely invincible, but it does mean that a Dreamweaver is very unlikely going to die to one single person hitting them.

I suggest not even using most of the psionic attacks as an example. 8-second cycles on the attack would just make the dreamweaver laugh. Now if Telepaths could Mindburst a dreambody or ghost... Yea right! That would cause so many complaints the forums would explode.

What another Highmagic skill? There's nothing more than Kether...
Malicia2005-10-21 20:54:32
Right. The only offensive abilities in highmagic are hexagram, binah and kether.

I'm just going with what he said. wink.gif Ask him.

Hrm, I have a question...if you are dreamweaving and your body is at, for example the Mother tree. What would happen if you died in Dreamform? Conglutinate there?

It used to be that way. Now you die as if you died where your dream spirit is... so if your dreambody dies in allied territory, you conglutinate. If in enemy territory, you pray.

Ah...seems fair to me then. One attack in Highmagic to attack Dreambodis (and a high one at that, too) One low, sucky in psionics...and I don't know of any other. Not bad I'd say, but that's just my oppinion, I have been Dreamweaver for only...what...4 IG years or so...and I didn't know of Absinthe until the last year, so... ninja.gif

EDIT: O'course, Elryn and Thaemorn killed me without any chance of me to do something back, so I might be a bit biased.
Munsia2005-10-21 22:58:37
jawdrop.gif ash we have been talking about it in hartstone for.. EVER
Unknown2005-10-21 23:26:17
There are no movement hindering skills in highmagic?
Jack2005-10-21 23:27:33
None.
Unknown2005-10-22 00:04:45
Maybe it's rituals I'm think of, but Highmagic does have at least one movement affecting skill.
Jack2005-10-22 00:20:50
GreaterPentagram is hardly the best trans skill out there, though.
Munsia2005-10-22 00:24:30
yall are idiots... it's carcer but I think thats rituals
Unknown2005-10-22 00:46:39
Does great pentagram even affect people out of phase? Besides, it only stops from entering, not leaving (I think).
Unknown2005-10-22 00:58:56
It does.
