And finally, if you pose the question: How does waking up hinder them, then I think its rather obvious why you object to dreamweaving. It would be like me arguing knights are overpowered and fire back with, but "why apply health, it doesn't kill them."

Heh. I do wake up, and I have yet to have a dreamweaver kill me, or do anything except make me find some nice trees to sleep in when they were done. That's not the point. What is the point is that there are ways to hinder / slow down corporeal bodies. There isn't a similar thing for a non-corporeal form. I'm not sure why you are trying to turn it into "you can't defend against it" when I can, but whatever.

So why isn't anybody mentioning the fact that only dreamweavers are able to bypass secuirty and hit a warrior in their own home without them having any real way of attacking back?

Dreamweavers appear to be the only group of people who have an advantage in the enemies territory, as appose to mages and everyone else who gain advantages in their home territory.

dreamweavers cant get through doors. so theres that..
and dreamweaving has extremly long balance/eq stuff.. slower then my cudgel

You obviously haven't pissed off a group of Wiccans during the Full/New Moon.

There is.

You can concentrate in dreamform, you just can't focus unfortunately.

"Oh no, I'm being attacked by a dreamweaver, I'm going to go drop an eye sigil in every room next to me, and all the rooms around them, then go back and hope the dreamweaver is still in the same place to start fighting"? Or is there something else?

I was speaking more of skills and abilities, but you're right. Can slow down a body a little bit with an eye sigil. If you make a habit of carrying plenty of them, at least.

Edit: And I seem to remember a lot of arguments saying that being able to throw eye sigils around isn't a great counter against lich / ghost. happy.gif Can get choke points, not so good at random areas.

been changed since Viravain had to unstick me twice? sad.gif I was chaos cursed and got stuck like that
Unknown2005-10-21 05:36:46
Um, eye sigils don't stop dreamweavers. That would make it kinda easy. tongue.gif (Eye sigils stop dreamweavers stealing things on the ground, or coalescing)

Think about what abilities hinder corporeal movement, and which would also affect spirits.

I thought they slowed dreamweaver movement (not stopping it entirely), which is why I mentioned having to do more than one set of rooms, allowing you a little time to pursue. That's not the case, then?

The only thing I can think of that would get a non-corporeal form would be the moondancer "remove exits at random" thing, because there's no exit to go. Well, until it comes back, at least.

Other than that- web, no. Can't paralyze a spirit, or give it afflictions. Can't break its limbs. Can't target it with weapons, or spells except for violet/kether. I remember that rubble affected spirits, though that seems more like a bug (especially as it dragged your body around).

This's limiting a lot of options. There's no tackle, no throwing cards, no hitting with hexes...
Unknown2005-10-21 05:45:28
No, eye sigils don't slow dreamweaver movement. Thank god, otherwise dreamweaving would be a death trap.

You haven't listed all the hindering skills (I haven't tried the moondancer one, though it sounds like it would work).
Citera2005-10-21 06:16:57
Well, perhaps if Dreamweavers had a way to hinder other dreamweavers, (a web or paralysis equivalent) while not in dreamform? I think it would be too annoying for Dreamweavers, if it was a general skill.
Unknown2005-10-21 06:23:27
No, dreamweavers are already powerful enough against each other.

Focus mind should work in dreamform, for this reason.
Narsrim2005-10-21 06:31:22
Rubble is an example of something that slows down dreamweavers.
Unknown2005-10-21 06:34:36
Actually, I think that was a bug. It doesn't anymore, if I'm remembering correctly.
Sylphas2005-10-21 06:39:05
I think we get back to the problem again of "Since he didn't die, I didn't win." This is untrue. If he has to bodysnap or run away, you won.
Unknown2005-10-21 06:40:36
Highmagic, people. Highmagic.

Artifact Scepters don't increase mana draining skills, what makes you think this? wacko.gif

It's just a base drain of 400 + 10% of target's maximum mana, which is about equal to amissio.
