Sylphas2005-10-19 06:06:20
Dammit, I sell 100 or so off at 4k, and THEN it goes up.
Morik2005-10-19 06:29:46
I hope post-auction brings a glut of credits on the credit market, but I fear that the few rich people will snarf em up and milk the poor people who want a few credits to fix skills.

I bet it won't, I bet the cheap credits will be bought up and a few people will make gobs of money off it.

So mean... sad.gif

Things like this will ruin Lusternia for a lot of people. (Not me, I'm still here after a year and still happy smile.gif except for this, anyway)
Unknown2005-10-19 07:31:02
Why is this such a bad thing? Shouldn't a reasonably realistic economy have fluctuations like this?
Iridiel2005-10-19 11:15:11
WoW. Who won the 20million lusternian lotery to buy so much??
Diamante2005-10-19 11:36:06
there were 1700cr at 7000 gold on that market, that alone is nearly 12million gold.

Either a)admins took those for some odd reason huh.gif

c)Kethuru ate them laugh.gif ohmy.gif
d)I hit it big at blackjack tongue.gif

Yeah I'm rather interested where those 1700 at 7000g per went too.. blink.gif

That's just.. interesting, especially since they were not put up by a player.. so what happened to them?
Iridiel2005-10-19 14:43:27
Some people are just too rich to be healthy.
At least nobody has blamed Richter right away, we're improving, aren't we? wink.gif

My gods, you're right, you're absolutely right! *flap* I mean, no credits on the market right now? The game is ruined! Who cares about the hundreds or thousands hours the gods spent working on skills, and areas, who cares about roleplaying, who cares about anything at all, when the credit market is temporarily down???

I can't say for sure why it happened, but who cares? You know what would be bad? If it looked like this:

Credits currently available for purchase:
64 credits at 15000 gold per credit.
23 credits at 15500 gold per credit.
56 credits at 16000 gold per credit.
2 credits at 18000 gold per credit.
232 credits at 26000 gold per credit.
Total credits for sale: 6 shown (6 total) (Average sale price: 5750)

Instead of this:

Credits currently available for purchase:
5 credits at 15000 gold per credit.
1 credits at 26000 gold per credit.
Total credits for sale: 6 shown (6 total) (Average sale price: 5750)

Scenario A shows incredible inflation of the market (still not really enough to make someone quit, I mean c'mon). This completely sucks for 90% of Lusternia (I'd love it, but it would make the rest of you unhappy). There's not anything we can do except flood the market with low-priced credits, and while that would be nice, no one will follow that, because they'll charge as much as they can get (nothing wrong with that, as a lack of credits won't change your life, like say, gas prices going up 300%). The market would stabilize a -bit-, because most people won't pay 15k for a non-nessecary good (rightfully so).

However, this isn't happening.

In scenario B, there are just no credits really for sale, and what I like to call the "really, really stupid idiotically priced credits" are the only ones left. These credits are always there for some reason, and its just that the normal ones are gone. Since we don't run on a real economy, due mostly to the credit market and ooc credits, it will return to a somewhat normal state eventually, because people always buy credits to sell on the market. Granted, they're going to price them about 5-6k if they're smart, but we'll see from there. If there's anything that we've learned over the last year, its that the market doesn't really change -too- much. Prices took a few months to stabilize after opening, and have really been between 3500-4500 the rest of the time.

So, in essence, calm the heck down. smile.gif

Maybe because I keep saying I'm getting at least $570 worth of Xbox 360 stuff, plus tax of course.

With the sale and the temorarily disturbed market, I'm wishing I had money to spend on credits, rooms would go back to 30cr each.
Terenas2005-10-19 15:04:45
Considering that Astral is pretty much dead nowaday, I'm assuming it's all the rich people that have greatly profited from the Catacombs. Especially like all the Magnagorans that spend all the time bashing there. Munsia told me she made over 36k in one bashing trip and that didn't include killing everything. doh.gif
