The old days:
People bought credits and put them on market. People made a lot of money from astral and bought them, it was a steady process.
Now:
People buy credits and put them on market. People make less money from the catacombs, and its not a very steady process.
So, if we're going to point the finger at the catacombs replacing astral, I think there would be -more- credits for sale at the moment.
My two theories:
1. People just haven't bought a ton of credits to sell for gold lately.
2. Type AUCTIONS

With the sale and the temorarily disturbed market, I'm wishing I had money to spend on credits, rooms would go back to 30cr each.

30? Rooms cost 150k each, you ...you...vile merchant you! You make around 9 credits off of that!

This is EXACTLY the reason, which I told you all back when you kept saying Astral was the problem.
The credit market is based off OOC credit sales, if people aren't buying many OOC, there aren't any to sell. There are some exceptions, like guiding and bardic, but those gains are so small it doesn't really change anything.
Right now, for the most part, anyone buying credits is probably buying them for the auctions. When the auctions are over, you'll probably see many people with left over credits. Some of them will be used for skills, some for normal artifacts. The rest... right on to the market.

Let's see...
I was going off the hopes credits would go to 5k again. 150000/5000 = 30. So, 30 credits a room. I charge 140000 gold for someone to buy a room.
I lose two credits, how do I make nine again?

Though, everyone is going to understand it after you repeat what I've been telling people. Suddenly, everything is going to make sense, and the masses will flock to Hajamin as the authority on the credit market.
I say wait a week or two after the auctions. If you want to sell high, do so now.
Shorlen2005-10-19 15:45:19
Those 5 credits at 15k were mine. When I looked at the market and saw the only credits for sale were one at 26,000, I couldn't resist, just to see if anyone would actually buy them. Apparently and thankfully, people are at least sensible enough not to pay THAT much

I worked off of 7k. You should raise the prices...(so that I can sell some too! *shifty*)
Ekard2005-10-19 16:11:50
Ok, so what happened with 1700 credits for 7k??
Suhnaye2005-10-19 16:18:01
Yeah, thats what I'm wondering... I kind of doubt even Richter has enough loose gold layin around to buy out damn near the whole credits market... And credits can't be sold to buy MORE expensive credits... So what happened to all of em, and more importantly... Where'd the gold come from... Something doesn't look right from where I'm sitting, unless they all took em off the market all at once

In that case, rooms would cost just over 21cr, they'd be 150000gp to make, I'd charge 140k and... still lose 10k.
But, it would let me get a "free" room every three.
Richter2005-10-19 16:21:29
Of course I don't have that kind of gold. 1700*7000 = eleven point nine MILLION gold.
I have like... 10k.
I have like... 10k.
Ashteru2005-10-19 16:21:30
You don't understand me...7k per credit, 30 creddies for a room...*shifty* You just have to advertise that having a room in Deepnight is better than to live alone...

I don't get this whole astral whining thing. It's not the money people are actually wanting it's the larger exp combined with the money. You can do other things and make just as much gold but little exp.

You are right i can get 20k in half of hour if i have luck and noone is trying to kill or do same quests what i want to do. But 20k in an hour is easy for me.
But i want astral back for exp!!!

Hell yeah, clear out the Inner Sea, the Sea of Despair, Toscha Monastary, Shallach (if you're trans fleeing), the Grey Moors.. there's Earth, Water, Astral respawns, Rockeaters.. whole arseloads of quests in said areas and more.
There's plenty, Astral just spoiled us, link and kill, link and kill, link and kill, so easy you could automate it with 3 triggers.. if Astral ever comes back, I sure hope it won't be as profitable anymore! And Munsrim proves often enough it's viable to bash the Catacombs without permission from teh Emperor.

Spoiled maybe, but it gets really boring fast. I don't really miss astral bashing, to be honest. It was like a job, detached from the realms.

Ya, I was trying to tell people on my guild that this was most likely to do with the auctions, to simple wait around, not panic, and most of all refuse to buy insainly expencive credits. Myself I refuse to buy anything that isn't in the 4-5k range *shrug* I'll let other people blow all their money off on 2 credits when I get 4 out of the deal I don't mind waiting. seems other people freak out when they see that though.
