Normally, I'd would have tried to tell Kaervas this but since he has me snubbed (plus, this isn't exactly something obscure), I thought I'd share both to report this and perhaps to inform him as I'm going to assume he might not know:
Kaervas, your demesne is extremely bugged in the Catacombs and I have no idea how you are melding it -but- it shouldn't be possible to have fragmented parts:

Superimposed over this location, an ethereal forest reaches up to the sky.
The spiral staircase descends into a gaping darkness below, wherefrom a deathly
silence emanates. In each cardinal direction a low cut stone passage extends,
illuminated by an unearthly glow. The stones that guide passage here are
meticulously carved and intricate patterns and scripture adorn the walls.
Unfortunately it appears that no amount of craftsmanship can save this
construction from the scourge of time, as much of the stairwell is crumbling
into dust and a moist scent of decay permeates the area.
You see exits leading north and up.

The bright sun shines down, blanketing you with its life-giving warmth. A
bizarre-looking duck-billed platypus splashes about here.

Anyone who is familiar with the Catacombs will note that the forest in stairwell connects up to level 1 and down to level 3. Therefore, it should be impossible to have a meld that runs from Magnagora -> Shallach -> Catacombs (first level) -> skips the stairwell -> connects to the Catacombs (third level).
The room I glanced north of in the stairwell also is not connected to the demesne yet melded. The demesne is extremely bugged. Munsia and I have broken the entire bottom in the past... and yet everytime, it ends up again completely screwy like this.

Note that after chasing me, Kaervas did taint over and meld that forested room.

I melded the whole demesne back when I managed to open all of the levels of the catacombs therefore allowing me to demesne the whole place. Not really sure what's going on it, the effects only work on the bottom level, duststorm effects through my whole demesne and dissolving doesn't get rid of the demesne either.

Need to meld an adjacent room to the not-dissolving demesne and then dissolve, if I recall correctly.

The thing with the catacombs is that after a while half of the areas shut off so you can't enter them without pulling a chain or whatever. Ages ago when I first started bashing the catacombs I went through and melded most of the rooms on all of the levels so I could center without using up power.

I think the easiest solution would be that any area that is fragmented and does not link back to the center should automatically unmeld.

Kinda hard to do graph edge detection when the graph gets split..
Yeah, can someone please change demesnes so that isolated islands away from the centre are unmelded? Ie, when an area splits off, the side connecting to the centre stays melded, the other side is unmelded?
People would shout at me for keeping astral melded (and hurting sparkle production) - I'd "aquacast dissolve" which would dissolve the rooms connected to the centre but not those isolated.

I always found that, if in this situation, when I went to the area that didn't dissolve properly, I just flooded it, melded it, and then I had the whole place back on my 'active' demesne part, so I could then dissolve that area.
Example, Cancer and Scorpio melded. They split, and I dissolve, which then dissolves Cancer. Then, when scorpio connects, I go over, flood, meld, and dissolve to rid Scorpio's demesne.
