I would probably do something like take their nightaction away. And if they didn't have one, I'd possibly mod-kill. I wasn't really concerned with post-restrictions not being followed.

Cwin was obvious scum from day 2. That's why I TOLD IRIDIEL TO LYNCH HER DURING THE DAY, but she didn't listen sad.gif

We would have won if I hadn't died - I would have known Tsuki was scum from her roleclaim, which is clearly too powerful of a role for a townie to have. I just don't see why noone picked up on the 'rolescrier' 'roleblocker' scum combo, it was so obvious from the roleclaims sad.gif
Unknown2005-11-07 10:58:26
You'll also notice that Cwin's claim of a kill afted I died also would have put the night kills at four, which is only possible if Vix had used her power to vig. There were a few tells that the town did not pick up on.
Unknown2005-11-07 11:39:53
Also, a note about no lynching.

No lynching on day 1 generally isn't a good option. The town's primary tool to get rid of the scum is through lynches. The voting and lynch on day 1 can also be good for information to use that night and later on in the game to make connections.

No lynching is useful when there are 8 players or less and even numbers, when information is lacking (possible cop sanity issues), or there is something to be gained by moving to night without a lynch. Ie: a vigilante that's believed. Day 3 in this game would've been an excellent time to no lynch.

By day 2 I was already planning for you guys to kill me off. I knew a good many were pinning on me and that I lived only because others looked worse off. I had a desperate hope that everyone was either looking for Tainted people (i.e. Magnagorans, or other CLEARLY evil folks) or so panicy over the cult that they'd let by the poor little mafia girl for just one more day.. just one more.

I just KNEW Quid would get me from Day 1 when I completely fumbled myself. I was afraid to kill him off because it would just scream "Cwin did it".

When people started saying "There's no mafia, just cult" I nearly squealed in delight.

Well, looking for the twist. Just found the wrong one tongue.gif Was mostly because I believed the other roleclaims, and I had already scried the two guilty as innocent. sad.gif

Well, you could look at it like this. Your first instincts were good. Go with that GUT!
Unknown2005-11-07 17:06:30
Oh also, Tsuki's roleclaim was a HUGE sign to anyone willing to check roles. It is pretty much always a mafia role, to be able to scry for names and not inclinations, from what I understand.

Quite. Of course, if certain others had still been alive, I'd've claimed differently. Also, when someone points you towards information, it's either because they want you to check it to see the truth, or they want you to assume the information agrees only with what they've claimed and you'll believe them. I knew my claim was a gamble, but I was counting on the latter. If certain others had still been alive, I could've still claimed scrier, but gone against Xenthos and said I'd found Vix as innocent. Vix would've gone with me with that I'm sure, as would've Cwin eventually. We only needed 4 to lynch, so we'd've had to convince either Iridiel or Sylphas to lynch Xenthos. I'm cautiously optimistic that that could've happened, and then the revealing of the insane cop status at death would've supported my claim. happy.gif And actually, if I hadn't thought at first that Xenthos might've been our traitor, that's the route I would've taken ... and it would've been safer.
Vix2005-11-08 02:47:22
Heh, if you did follow that scenario we still could've known Xenthos was innocent 'cause I tracked him to myself. DIE EVIL LYING SCUM! *cough*

Of course, not like anyone listened to me. tongue.gif

I officially hate insane cops, with a fiery passion, because I've not been in a game yet where they didn't/wouldn't completely screw the townie side.  We simply don't have enough information most games to tell, and even one wrong kill can be our undoing.

Secondly, TWO plain townies, and I get one of them? You couldn't have thought something up? dry.gif

Oh-ho-ho!

You've never played a dethy have you?

4 cops 1 mafia

1 sane cop(always correct)

1 insane cop(always incorrect)

1 paranoid cop(everyone is guilty)

1 nieve cop(everyone is inno)

It's fun, the cops need to figure out who is who before the mafia kills them all, meanwhile the mafia picks a type of cop to be and a way to screw up the other cops trying to figure it out wink.gif

It was the first day that did you in. I think everyone wanted a reason to take you down since you pushed for the final vote so early on. I tried to defend you since I was SURE there were either more Cultists or a second Mafia family with Revan being one of them and, besides, if I defended you and you were lynched then it would help my case (and my case needed ALOT of help). On Day 3 I pushed for you because by then there were too many clues pointing at me and Tsuki and people were noticing them. Thus it was either start a bandwagon or try to get Xenthos killed off, which could mean more time for someone to notice the kill count was off, that maybe having a real role doesn't mean you're innocent...

Oddly enough, I was vocal and aggressive this game because I was honestly trying to keep the innocent safe and kill off the other bad guys. My paranoid talks weren't to panic everyone: I realy did feel like half the world was evil.

But nooo, Revan just had to not be that evil one. Nooo, he had to be Timmie. dry.gif

just a probably random and useless suggestion, but could you let people who get killed on the first night(before the first day, immediatly when the game starts) have something to do for the game instead of just dying immediatly? like how you let xenthos give hints last game. by the first night i don't mean the night i was killed, i mean the night before that, the night the game starts on before anyone has the chance to do anything. i'm content just being an influence the first day, but it must really make people feel bad to die immediatly after signing up and soforth.

That was kind of neat, actually. I had no actual facts for them, and I got five words that I could send from the other side... made it difficult to really say much, except just try and point out things that others weren't really mentioning much yet, or to say "Well, look a little deeper at that".
Tsuki2005-11-10 01:12:57
It also really confused your poor, drunken partner and led to an innocent lynch doh.gif

Still was fun, though! laugh.gif

Yeah, I was trying to point out that I wasn't infallible... just observing. Unfortunately my five-word limit didn't convey that so well.

I will be coming up with the setup for another TW game soon, I will see if I can't think of a balanced role for ghosts to play.
